  • If they rescue her from a 9 year sentence they need to rescue all the US citizens in Russia with 9 years.

Why didn’t Gayle ask her the most important question…why did BG choose to go to Russia, this season, despite State department travel warnings????

I sympathize with them. However , you can’t tell a sovereign nation how to enforce their laws.
  • Let’s pretend none of this happened. Brittany and her wife wouldn’t lose a second of sleep if I was locked up for the same crime. At most they’d think about it for two minutes and watch TV or something
  • @elonmusk9869
She also beat up an opposing player in college during a game

This is a terrible situation but she’s not a hostage. She entered a foreign country and broke their laws. The laws are very notorious and explicit. Follow the laws of the countries you enter or stay home. American egos especially those of athletes believe they’re above the law no matter where they are. You can’t compare punishment in Russia to punishment in the US. Do the crime, do the time. Otherwise visit a country, obey the laws and go home safely. Stop justifying her crime. It was a crime there, period. It is what it is. She should’ve left her meds at home. Or, stayed home if she needed them that badly. It’s not even legal in most US states so let’s stop trying to pretend like it is.
  • A hostage is somebody that is taking for no reason against their will she was dumb enough to take weed into Russia. I'm a smoker myself and I love my vape cartridges but I don't sit there and drive down the street smoking on it... You did it to yourself
  • @apro5674
She broke the law and we have people locked up here longer for the same thing
  • @Killa-B33
She’s not a hostage, just a prosecuted criminal
  • @ronaldolamont
She's been playing basketball there since 2014 but she wasn't aware of the dangers of the laws there?!! 🤨🤨

Russian laws actually favor women. A woman in Russia cannot be sentenced to more than 15 years in prison, even if she commits the most heinous crimes. People say the nation is cruel, but the U.S. is actually harsher.
  • @blueapple4044
Griner protested the Star Spangled Banner and stated she would not be on the court while the national anthem was played during game openers. What's that you say, you want the U.S. to help now.
  • @1979KitKatt
Stop crying. What she did in another country was against the law. She did the crime, she has to do the time. If you know right from wrong, and do wrong, then you will suffer the consequences.
  • The reporter just stated that no amount of Marijuana is legal in Russia. What part of that do these people not understand you break the law you pay the consequences. I know for a fact the wnba and the nba have personnel that are employed specifically to counsel these players and explain the laws and customs of the countries they go to as representatives if the wnba or nba so she was well aware that cannabis, Marijuana, weed whatever you want to call it was illegal in Russia. She is by no means a hostage and the fact that this woman uses that term is disrespectful to hostages worldwide.

When you go to other countries, you need to follow their rules. If you don't like it, don't go. Not every country is like the US where they let criminals and murderers out into the streets.
  • @vashella9397
BG broke the laws of another country. She is exactly where she needs to be. I have zero sympathy for her
  • Are people who broke the law in America, and put in prison, hostages too?
  • @NOTAGOVTAGENT
I think russia has other things on their minds at the moment.
  • @traceyg2364
Joey helping out "BG" the law braker, but leaves our guys in Afghanistan. Nice.
