whoever decided to put the words "all the dreams in which i'm dying are the best ive ever had" to upbeat techbo is an unsung genius
-
This song is a masterpiece.. It was a privilege for me to have lived in the 80's...
-
“The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had” Makes me cry every time I hear it and their tears of joy this song is truly something
-
Like, the cover is pure depression, but the original is full of a unique revolutionary energy. Like, not just "I can't take this anymore," but "I'm not going to take it sitting down."
-
This whole song is basically just Curt Smith singing through anxiety and depression while Roland is having a sick rave in the background. It's honestly a masterpiece.🖤
-
When Tears For Fears decide to be melancholic and sing about emotion, they are at their very best.
-
Tears for Fears was far more prolific than they get credit for. Stunningly good duo
-
Curt: experiencing depression and sadness. Roland: just using the greatest moves on earth
-
40 years later and this song still sounds so good
-
Curt Smith: "Sing a sad song" Roland Orzabal: Epic Dance

2024 anyone? The intro to this is incredible, the music in the back and when he starts to sing goosebumps. Damn the 80s had so much talent back then. I can’t stop listening to this.
-
The guy dancing new wave 80's style in ths background absolute gold!👌
-
I love this. The Gary Jules version is the sadness of depression but this is the full embodiment of depression. Putting on the face that everything is good while one suffers from an intense sadness.
-
It's crazy hearing this version compared to the Gary Jules version. (yes, I know this is the original) Gary Jules' version makes you feel a sense of depression, like you see the whole world through the lens of depression and sadness. This version gives you the sense of being truly mad. Like being trapped in a depressed state, but also feeling happy and anxious at the same time. Like you don't know what to do. Truly mad.

I am 50. The 80s shaped me. I miss this era profoundly. 🤍
-
I'm not depressed, I just like this song
-
So upbeat and so sad. Dancing while dying inside, I'll give the 80s that. Nobody did that better
