Todd Blanche was performing for an audience of one: Donald Trump. He was trying to please Trump to make sure he gets paid. Instead, he probably irritated the jury.

McQuade is on point. She's right, Blanche has little to no experience as a defense attorney. He's a rookie and is making rookie mistakes, if I were to take his side. But Blanche has nothing to discredit Cohen with, which makes his "rookie mistakes" innocuous and benign.
