I like the little hints of her monstrous nature coming through in the layered voices only for her to drop the mask with “Now we assimilate.”

I remember reading a comment that Dark Samus, while being a threat to the galaxy, had a different perspective that makes you think. Phazon originates from the planet Phaaze, which was actually alive. The Leviathan seeds are its means of reproducing. And then you have the Galactic Federation and the Space Pirates weaponizing Phazon, preventing the process. In addition, Dark Samus being originally Metroid Prime, there are instances where she goes out of her way in Prime 2 to free captive Metroids. There is no reason behind this than protecting the vulnerable members of her species. Samus, herself, is known for exterminating Metroids. These factors make it seem like Dark Samus views the rest of the galaxy as "evil", as the major factions have shown that they are willing to exploit Phaaze and fledgling Phazon planets for their own purposes and are willing to destory/subjugate her own species. Her desire to assimilate everything and everyone could be interpreted as her solution to these threats.

I love how emotionless Dark Samus sounds - it really fits the character.

0:28 This line is interesting. At first it seems like she's referring to herself in the third person, but that seems out of place considering she never does that in the rest of the song. Could she be talking about Samus? After all, Samus's goal has always been to eliminate both phazon and the metroids (a goal she eventually succeeds at), so from the perspective of Dark Samus (aka Metroid Prime, a metroid heavily mutated by phazon), Samus kinda seems like the bad guy.

You perfectly captured Dark Samus's personality. Her voice (yes HER, fight me) is just as I imagined, a twisted, raspy version of Samus's. Thank you so much for this. I can't imagine how good Vs. Dark Samus would sound if you ever did it.

It’s barely begun and it’s already amazing. I wasn’t sure how you’d pull it off, but the atmosphere it creates is just perfect for the character. Looking forward to seeing what the next Smash Byte will be.
