  • Barry seems like a top bloke , interacts and respectful to the locals but knows life's fun and for living

Although I lived in the tropics as a kid, I couldn't handle the heat now. Anything over 24 Celsius kills me, and I hate sunny days. rather be where it rains and is cool. Crowded and noisy there too. I pay $160 a week in New Zealand for a cottage in a quiet rural location with idyllic views, and it rains 5 days a week most of the year. No nightlife for miles. Perfect !
  • Great to see Barry living the uncomplicated life...................
  • @ItsReallyMe.

Good interview guys. Get out of Australia it’s a joke. I worked Australian construction mines all my life. I suffered an onsite reported injury, asked my employer can I see a doctor and they terminated me. I’m now unemployed on centrelink which sux having now a permanent disability from my work injury and forced to release my superannuation to support my living costs. I’ll be in Thailand-October for my birthday. Land of smiles to make me smile

What a lovely fella, I'm 62 still working in the UK. Thailand is the dream.

Jonny: Thanks very much for such invaluable video and having Barry to share his experiences and views on Hua Hin. For me it is one of the top uploads from you as I plan to follow Barry in many ways similarly. I'm 66, US, retired Army, residing in the Philippines for the past 20+ years. I am more and more convinced there are better pastures out there and Hua Hin specifically stands out as it would fit my lifestyle. In few months from now I will start making monthly, bimonthly , trips as nothing beats "boots on the ground " (see things for myself) but for now I thank you again for all the info you've been providing. Tom.

This is an honest interview. I have been married to a lovely Thai lady for 35 years and have great respect for Thai people, warts and all.
  • An excellent interview Johnny, your guest was very knowledgeable and very well spoken and certainly seems like a really nice guy. I am retired in Thailand living in Bangsaray and I've spent quite a bit of time in Hua Hin. I believe that any expat would not go wrong by retiring in Hua Hin.
  • I love these real life experiences from expats. Thanks for making this video guys.

I just discovered this channel. The interview was awesome. I moved to Portugal and doing computer digital nomad. It is great to see people move to countries that they feel comfortable financially and have a beautiful life!
  • 18 months later after retiring here at 39, there really are so few cons compared to having to work until I’m dead back in the USA. My kid is an adult now, doing his thing so I am off doing the same. I take better care of my body here, better care of my brain, better care of my bank account. I think my lack of having like minded foreign friends. Thai men don’t really associate much with foreign men and most “Retirees” here in Thailand are at least 10 years older than I. I’ve still got to find my way when it comes to hobbies as well. I spend too much time relaxing instead of getting out and doing things as I would back in the US. Really those are the only cons I can think of.
  • I remember this Barry,, you were at a food market. Bloody great show Jonny. I'm visiting Hua Hin in the future. Barry was super easy listening.
  • Sorry about my earlier comment about bashing swedes. You guys are one of the bestest co-farags in 🇹🇭 for us finns. Love and hugs! Behave! 🤗🇫🇮
  • Great interview Jonny and well done for Barry very unbiased…. Wish him all the best for the future!!
