Years ago someone made an apple that tastes like a grape, and I've always wanted to try it. However, they apparently don't exist anymore. So now, I think the only way I can taste one, is to make it myself.

I watch NileRed to learn, I watch NileBlue for warcrimes

100% some farmers sprayed bird stop on their apple trees and noticed it tasted like grape. That percentage on both the patent and bird stop is too suspicious.

Literally the label: "If swallowed, call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice." NileBlue: "If it's good for a bird, it's probably good for us, too, right?"
  • that 26.4% on both the paper and the bird stop is highly suspicious. something tells me that is exactly how they made it.

26.4% for their recipe, 26.4% in bird stop.. I wonder why it was discontinued

I've been looking for Grapples for YEARS. They were absolutely delicious, I cannot describe how tasty they were. Thank you for sharing this information---you have brought me comfort and closure. Keep doing what you do.

For those who don't know, food grade refers to materials or products that are safe for human consumption or permitted to come into direct contact with food

Was expecting a cool video about breeding apples to get them to taste like grapes. Got two kids in the high school chem lab eating bird deterant.

I by chance tried one of these apples back when they were available in 2011, a coworker offered me one since you could only buy them in packs of three. It was as you described, a mild grape flavor, but it faded the deeper you ate into the apple until it tasted like a regular fuji apple. The next time I was in the produce section at the grocery store, I looked for these things and about fell over when I saw the price, it was $6-7 for just three of these apples, and that was in 2011 dollars. You could buy a whole bag of like 10-12 fuji apples for that price. I never heard about any recalls for health effects of those apples, they just didn't sell well and faded from existence. I've seen several weird fruit hybrids or "designer" fruits pop up in the produce section over the decades, and they never stay around for long because they're either too expensive or aren't appealing for one fruit to taste like another.

MANT is used for meds, sweets and cosmetics and totally safe as aroma. For birds it’s safe too but it causes pain in their eyes, beak and throat triggered by a nerve which reacts to the MANT.

I love that the label says "if swallowed contact poison control immediate". Proceeds to taste spoonful of it.

They used bird repellent too. If you look in the left column on the paper at 1:30 around the 25 mark it says that they used a 26.4% mixture manufactured by Bird-X and sold under the name Bird Shield. This is probably exactly how they made the Grāpples😂

We used to have an old apple tree that only have a few apples, but they tasted like gooseberries. It was kind of weird but really delicious. I miss that tree and those apples.

Grapples were owned and produced by a company called C & O nursery in Washington. They closed down shop after over a century due to “a slowing down in the agricultural economy due to state regulations” hope this is helpful

If Nile stops uploading we know why the Graple went out of business

"if it's good for a bird it's probably good for us too right?" - NileBlue's final words

Cameraman: "Woah, this is delicious." Birds: "I'm fuckin outta here"

I regret to say I was not shocked by Nigel needing to taste diluted bird stop, though I’m wholly disappointed 💀
