There wouldn’t be a Merle or George without Lefty. The influence he made on country music should never be forgotten.

Lefty Frizell was the original Texas Honky Tonk Hero and everyone else came after him!

So sad that Country Music has almost disappeared, so simplistic and beautiful. The voices do it all on their own, subtle background vocals.

I like how they dressed up for their fans. They didn’t look like they were homeless.

I too was born in Saginaw, Michigan. That was in 1954. Saginaw is still my home.

Nobody ever had a better voice for country music then or now

Discovering Lefty later in life, but better late than never.

Back when country music was country music. Thank you Lefty.
  • My parents listened to country and western music every day when I was growing up. These old tunes bring back the memories and usually a tear.

These old legends like LEFTY prove that country music doesn't exist this day.
  • Lefty, you may be gone, but your not forgotten. We all miss you. Keep singing where ever you are.
  • I remember so well sitting in my daddy's lap as he sat on the recliner humming to this song while sipping a beer..... He passed away a long while ago, and hearing this song both makes me remember those wonderful memories, and it also causes my heart to ache as well.... Love ya, dad !!!

I was born there in the 60's, and even then his music was still popular.

Absolutely so good. I am happy that I grew up listening to the great singers of this era. Thanks Mom and Dad.
