It’s fun, fizzy, a little bit melancholic and a little bit retro. I hope you love it. This is my first single on my newly launched own record label A.G Records. It’s an exciting new chapter for me after two decades in the industry. To own my masters for the first time and share my music with the world in truly my own way feels really quite exhilarating. "I Wanna Be Loved (Just A Little Better)" is #19 on my playlist chart of Best Recordings in 2024. "In Electric Blue" was my number 1 song of 2023 out of thousands of songs I listened to. I strongly prefer "I Wanna Be Loved (Just A Little Better) as a lead single to the first 2 singles Alison released off "The Love Invention". I hope we get a new album in 2024 or 2025. Love Alison as an artist so much!

The metronome click track opening works well. I like the song and yes you absolutely have the right to own your own masters and release what you want when you want. It's always fun when you veer towards dance or power pop (I loved the deeply layered rhythms of Thea and Ocean). I must admit I miss that extra layer or two of unusual unexpected synth / rhythm ear candy. At times Love Invention got close, but was superb in its own way. The richer ear candy layers contrast so well with oh so smooth vocals, rounding out and balancing the sound spectrum. I hope the dance sound will come to incorporate that more, but it's an art as pounding dance bass and high mids need space for impact. Still, it would lift new works above Head First. Whatever Alison does though, I'm so happy she is creating and sharing it. It is the nature of creativity to repeatedly circle previous works, distil elements, and infuse new ones with the present self/situation. Music would lose so much without her - and Will, of course. He deserves a nod even though he isn't on this new direction, by the sound of it. All part of the journey which brought us here.
