I remember reaching the end of FFXV and my sisters coming to watch the final cutscene with me despite not seeing anything prior - that scene still resonated with them. Such a powerful performance.
-
I do agree with the "voice acting is about vulnerability " It is what humanizes the character and give them life more than just being a voice You have a great eye for voice work Keep going man

Dude, Treasure Planet is criminally underrated. Probably one of the most interesting and genuinely moving hero/villain dynamics I've ever seen in a film.

spuuky saying that he is reviewing a disney movie that not much people have seen, literaly says my favorite movie and upon hearing the name I tear up thanks for this momet spuuky. great video

I could watch you analyze voice acting like this all day. And Stephen Merchant in Portal was awesome, why doesn’t he do more games?!?! I’m thinking of analyzing movies and TV in a similar way on my channel, good voice acting is everywhere! Great work sir!

6:28 WHO IS THE GUIDING HAND SPUUKY? I THOUGHT YOU WERE IN CONTROL!

“I think all acting is, is your capacity to play pretend while being vulnerable. Cause that’s really hard to do.”

What’s just as important as good acting for me is good timing. When characters are interrupting each other but you can hear that little pause when their lines run out and they’re waiting for the other actor to continue, it just triggers me. No matter how perfect the voice acting is, if the pacing is off, it’s not believable. It reminds me that there are people reading out lines on a script. It’s like this for me at least. (It Takes Two is a good example for perfect pacing in conversations). I work in motion capture for video games mainly as a setrunner and processing recorded data. We often have pre-recorded voice lines by the actual voice actors for the characters. The actors on set (not the voice actors most of the time) have to repeat these lines with perfect timing, lip sync, body language and emotions so it fits the pre-recorded voice acting (given that we’re doing face recordings lol). Which means, they have to act out these weird pauses too and you can see it all over their body language that they’re pausing even tho it doesn’t feel natural to them. That’s why cutscenes often look just off, because voice lines, face cam and sometimes even body are recorded at different points of time. Sad, but not everyone has the budget to hire the voice actors for full mocap performance. :/ This comment wasn’t planned to be this long but new stuff kept popping up in my head. Awesome video! I love voice acting and your videos about it! :D

Found you on KH Twitter. Great videos nice work
-
Endorphin boost - check! Love the voice acting picks. These are all SOLID performances. You’re tenuous grip on maintaining your composure at the beginning of the video is entertainment gold. 😂
-
Why not just ADR over the muted reactions? Kappa
-
may you get many endorphins back
-
sheeeesh, that was really... heartwarming i guess? thank you for the vids anyway. <3
-
Let other VO's dub your muted reactions lol
-
You're a strong working man! Go straight to your dreams!
-
I think that the Joker and Mr. Freeze from Batman the Animated series, and Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2 should've been in the video, but that is just my opinion.
