Here is one my Christmas presents this year. It is a Ramsey FM10C FM stereo transmitter kit. It puts out about 10 mW of power, enough for about a 200 foot radius. Sound fidelity is amazing. Runs on one 9V battery.

That is sooooo cool!! I might get one now:) Hope you have a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

That is awesome! Is the signal strong enough to excite mercury atoms in fluorescent lights, making them glow? I love the creation LOL, and good choice in tunes, too. Imagine if somebody nearby was walking with a portable radio switching stations when he/she comes across this? It would be funny to see a reaction! LOL

@XmasLightsGuy As far as tuning the antenna goes, having an SWR meter helps too. But I don't know of any that will work with such a small amount of power.
  • @bamaslamma1003
@BowlingMania14 It has an "antenna out" jack. Maybe connect an external amplifier.

Thanks I might try to set this up but i dont know if im allowed to put antennas on top of my condo hope so :))

I recently got an HLLY Villa transmitter. MUCH better than this one. Much stronger signal (approx. 1/2 mile) and it's PLL controlled for no annoying frequency drift.

@bamaslamma1003 Ohhh ok. Would you do any modifications to this thing if you wanted a stronger signal? That would probably require changing electrical components inside.

@bamaslamma1003 You can add an antenna to that jack and it will greatly increase distance...but the antenna needs to be "tuned" IE: sized for the frequency you'll transmit on. (somewhere i had the formula for it..no idea where LOL, but you should be able to just Google it ) You can add an external Amp for more range, but that will violate FCC limits (personally don't think i'd risk it).

@BowlingMania14 Unfortunately the signal from this transmitter isn't strong enough to light a fluorescent lamp. My CB will do it though.
  • @bamaslamma1003
@yodecka It uses a type "F" output jack. Same kind as on the back of a TV set.
  • @redbarron1
@bamaslamma1003 Maybe that could work. I'm not entirely sure how it's set up. I've never worked with radios before.
  • @yodecka
how big is the antenna out jack 2.5mm?

Cute transmitter but ripoff price. Always just got the CZH.
