Great bit. I was honestly expecting some tired cliche humor about the French but he managed to make the story hilarious without demeaning the culture. The French have a marvelous sense of humor and this routine was very well written and delivered. 🇨🇦🇫🇷

I have a home in Canada. When French Canadians talk with thick accents in English, I have no clue what they're saying.😂

I'm French Canadian, and I didn't know where he was going with this at first. That is actually a funny story. We don't spit at the end of our sentences by the way.
  • This guy is great. I used to frequent a bar he owned in Huntington NY called Beekmans (named after his bird. I am not sure he owned one with wings). He performed there playing the guitar and made up lyrics as he sang. I walked in once while he was playing and I immediately became part of his song. " Richie walked into Beekmans bar as I was playing my guitar..." and then he went on to make fun of me for something. Probably whatever I drank back then — might have been Greyhounds. I drank free all night by playing their love machine. You put in a quarter and squeezed a trigger and it rated you. The lights went in a pattern, so I'd watch other people play, and when one particular rating came up, I'd fire in a quarter, yank the handle, and walk away pointing at the machine without even looking at the result and line up another round. People didn't understand how I always won, so I'd bet them drinks and line up backups in case no one played for a bit. I'd show them a fake 'technique' for how to grip the handle just right and they'd pump in quarters till I told them "no. Like this." And I'd slap the handle and go to my spot at the bar with another backup waiting. He was my first exposure to real improv, and I've been a fan of it ever since. That was 40 years ago. How do you like the French humor?
