What do we think of this detachment then guys? what's the best combo that can be done with these strats and enhancements? and are you looking forward to deleting CPs?
  • Great run down, remember a lot of units got extra move to include praetorians to move 10. I already run 30 praetorians 😂
  • @OdinXivraj
The Triarch Stalker does indeed benefit form this detachment and is beastly with it. The +1 to wound makes it great at shredding elites with the Twin Gauss Cannon and an amazing tank hunter with the Heat Ray. The -1 damage strat adds a ton of survivability to it as well. Good target for using Tank Shock too since it has a surprisingly decent melee attack. Territorial Obsession can even let it sang an objective in a pinch, bringing them up to OC 7. Triarch Stalkers really seem to be a lynchpin unit for this detachment. Run Imotekh with it. He may not benefit directly form the detachment but the stratagem synergy is great and you'll need the extra CP.

I happen to love some of the changes to necrons. Every unit is very playable now in a particular detachment. I've loved some of your takes on the new book. I can't wait to my copy. the only thing I'm sad about is the reainamator 6" would have been fairer, but I'm looking at the positives a lot more. Thanks for the overview & the individual detachments, guys.

-1 to damage is very useful on Szarekh
  • @jacklanyon8550
2 melee combos I see: Enslaved artifice on 6 Skorpekh with Lord (24 attacks with lethal hits on 5+, reroll full hits on charge, plus Skorpekh Lord with the same lethal hits rerolling hits, plus charging MW rule). Save the dev wounds for later rounds. Problem is no movement tricks to get the Skorpekh to melee - maybe Nightscythe as it can use the -1 dam strat to be much more durable and can now arrive on turn 1. These Skorpekh now threaten vehicles and hard targets. Can also use Enslaved artifice on Scarabs (36 attacks, lethal hits on 5+) for a nasty surprise when needed.

Triarch Stalkers could be pretty spicy in this edition. Giving essentially a 2D6 heavy Flamer a +1 to wound is super cool. Not to mention how they have Scout 8 now to get them into that juicy Melta 4 range too.
  • @jacklanyon8550
Triarch stalkers look great with -1 dam strat, and +1 to wound - especially tasty on the melta 4 heat rays after a scout move. It also will strip cover to facilitate immortal/warrior fire,, better off there using hvy flamer option given infantry target.
  • @neiladams3042
What weapon loadout would you recommend for a unit of Praetorians?
  • @jacklanyon8550
Given no movement nor survivability improvements for infantry, most infantry will need their own good movement - so Battleline /Lychguard with Chronomancer and Translocation overlord as well as 5 man Praetorians seem the real options, unless we run some nasty nasty Skorpekh from a night scythe. Tesla Immortals particularly love the Enslaved Artifice (effectively running units with chronomancer and plasmancer). Then its time to lean into the vehicles with Triarch stalkers, DDA, and Doom Scythes. Could even run a monolith - now durable, and can help with infantry movement. Points will tell. Doom Scythes appear very good - either crit on 5+ if enemy stand firm, or if enemy gets -1 to hit just use strat to crit on 5+ anyway. It is very killy, and hands out -1s to enemy shooting to keep your army alive. Dam reduction Strat keeps this guy in the sky.
  • @russman738
Doom Scythe crits on 5's is super sexy. Just needs a point reduction. Why didn't they allow Overlords to lead Praetorians in Obeisance Phalanx? Why didn't they allow crypteks to lead Destroyer Cult in Annihilation?
  • @Aisaaax
Hello! Do you have pictures or paint tutorials for these necron models anywhere?
  • @jameswebb4545
Would the time is night be good in an ‘Amidst the Maelstrom’ game?
  • While this is the detachment I’m most interested in playing I think the keyword problem is annoying. Also making it so the scythguard can no longer attach with orikan is a huge miss for me as mention the lychguard durability was trash canned. Why the -1 to wound was changed to only vs Str > then toughness while also cutting out crypteks… idk just a huge bummer since I was avoiding playing my lychguard during the index.
  • @DrakkusN
Is the minus 1 damage to a minimum of 1 still?
