74 seconds hot fire test - Helix engine

Published 2022-07-14
RFA successfully hot fires Helix engine for a total of 74 seconds

74 seconds! This is the total time we have now hotfired our Helix in flight configuration. The test campaign consisted of three tests of 4, 30 and 40 seconds each - without the need to replace any components on the engine. A great achievement which once again illustrates how reliable and performant Helix is.

  • where do you do your fire testing .. right now our community in Canada is having issues with Spaceryde testing on rural property near homes and farms .. just wondering if you do your testing remotely by comparison .
  • How do oxidizer-rich engine cycle engines compare in cost to other engine types? The super alloys needed to keep the pumps from melting are not cheap.
  • Just a question. What is the engine cycle type and the name of this engine? Just curious.
