i hope this sends a clear message to other hospitals that they just can’t trample on peoples rights AND they WILL be legally and financially accountable!
-
catherine bedy and sally smith need to go to jail
-
You did it Maya. You and your family, did it, and your tears flooded all of us who were hoping you would see justice, and we cry with you.
-
Thank you jury. There is justice. May her Mother rest peacefully now.
-
This is one of the most heartbreaking stories I have ever known. I m a mother and also Polish and I understood how Beata Kowalski took her own life to save her child. She was the most selfless mom. May she rest in peace and may her family regain their strength and heal from this ordeal. Sending love and strength. ❤

This verdict is a win for all families!!! This will hopefully put a spotlight on medical abuse from hospitals
-
This verdict is huge. Maybe all hospitals will remember this and “do no harm” as they say. The worst part is they can never bring her mother back. I’m so sorry Maya and family how you were treated. So uncalled for.
-
Rest easy now Beata. Thank you to the jury for this verdict. She is beaming with pride I’m sure of it. Prayers to the entire Kowalski family
-
Now, that hospital needs to be investigated. This is NOT an isolated case. I'm sure there are more people who have been treated like this.
-
I’m so glad the son will be compensated. He will NEVER get the picture out of his head of finding his mother in their home.
-
I cried with Maya and her brother. I'm sorry they had to loose their mother to reach a fair verdict. Your mom is heaven protecting you, Maya.
-
I’m happy about the verdict, but god I feel terrible for that girl, nothing can replace losing her mom like that.
-
My heart just aches for these kids. You can see it all over their faces that they would trade every last cent just to have their mother back. God bless them and keep them. I hope new laws are passed because of this case. It took me 20 some years to get my correct diagnosis, and this really shines a light on how some doctors have become so nonchalant and judgemental of people simply looking for answers. Laws need to change. Protocols need to be in place at a goverment level on how to handle situations like these.
-
I'm so happy with this verdict. I hope institutions straighten out and respect people's rights. May God bless this family.
-
Now make a Maya law and hold these drs and hospitals responsible!!!! Dont stop now!
-
These people breaking down and crying; made me cry. Children should never have to go through something like this. It damages them for life. The money can never replace what she lost.
-
Oh, my heart grieves for this family. This child should not be going through this. There’s one thing I’ve learned in the past 70 years; there is no justice anymore, without suing. These children lost their mother. Whether she had a mental disorder, makes no difference. She took care of her children. Calling DEFAC on her; pushed her over! It would any parent! Thank you Lord for being them justice.
-
Thrilling verdict! Im still crying. May God bless Maya, her family & her Mother in heaven.
-
my heart aches for the Kowalski family.... you can feel the indescribable pain that is now pouuring out of Maya, Kyle and also Jack... GUT WRENCHING to watch.... I hope and pray for this family's recovery and prace in the near future. Let this case be a constant reminder for hospitals in the USA to never repeat such atrocious mistakes ever again!!!
