This is basically the safest way to kill a shopkeeper in Spelunky HD because there is no chance of failure. Whipping them and grabbing their gun is always a risk if you haven't mastered it.
And one bomb is a pretty good trade for all the goods youre gonna get.

    If a shopkeeper is 1 block away or more from the exit of the shop, you won't get the kill and he will shotgun you. To be safe, when placing the bomb, pick it up and put it back down to SLIGHTLY increase the blast radius.

    this can be helpful for no gold runs (low scorer achievment) or just for beginners who dont want to fuck up a nice shop
