Today we take you to Atlanta, Georgia to tour the sprawling Tyler Perry Studios. Home to productions like Marvel’s “Black Panther” and AMC Networks’ “The Walking Dead,” the self-made entertainment legend’s production compound is larger than Warner Bros. and Walt Disney’s Burbank studios combined. 12 newly-dedicated sound stages are joined by an entire backlot neighborhood called “Maxineville,” featuring a perfect replica of Madea’s house. Tyler Perry Studios is the centerpiece of Georgia’s burgeoning film industry and a testament to the vision, success, and generosity of its founder.

This guy owns a whole zip code.
  • Love him or hate him, Tyler Perry is the true definition of "started from the bottom, now he's here".
  • @Phriffo
He was physically abused until he almost fainted, he had several suicidal thoughts, but he held on to his vision and never gave up. Here is Tyler Perry now, never give up!

Got to hand it to this man. He's reinvesting his hard earned money into his community. This is how you build up.

And to think at one time he was homeless, living in his car.

This tour was AMAZING!!!! The four sided house and the studio spaces WERE FABULOUS!!! LOVE HIM OR HATE HIM... HE CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR MANY PEOPLE!!!!

His is the story of the male version of the Cinderella fairytale. From rags to riches while maintaining a humble heart. I don't know why people criticize him so. He's done nothing but good things for people. He is responsible for the acting careers of so many people who would not have stood a chance in hell in Hollywood were it not for him. Thank you for everything you have given and done for others Mr. Perry. We love you.

The four sided mansion was a brilliant idea
  • I worked for years in Hollywood. I have been to and worked at nearly every studio from Studio City to Burbank to Manhattan Beach, and by far THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST and most self sustained, completely well thought out, and AMAZING of them ALL!!!!! I HOPE that I get to visit Tyler Perry studios one day. I'd love to see this all in person. So proud of what he has done.

I'm so proud of Tyler Perry. I'm sure he doesn't remember me, but I worked with him at my first job when I moved to Atlanta in 1993. "Fred Hanna and Associates", a collection agency on Franklin Road in Marietta. He told me then that "he was using all of his money towards acting and writing classes" and at that time, he was sleeping on a friend's couch. So very proud of what you accomplished.
  • Viewing this brought me to tears. I grew up on this base. I have fished, golfed, swimmed and been hospitalized this base. Tyler you are so amazing. I will share this with mom and dad.

Did anyone catch the financial genius when he said “this bar was in my house and I sold it to my studio” EPIC
  • @89lahja
He just got me thinking "what the hell am i doing with my life?"
