I love this film. It's such a great example of how to make a film on a relatively low budget and find a creative way to tell a simple story.

I think Tim Roth told him the truth at the end because 1. He knew he was about to bleed out and die, and figured it couldn't hurt to come clean, and 2. He'd genuinely grown to like and care about his new friend, and felt genuine guilt and regret for putting him through so much pain for defending him.
  • It's pretty obvious Tim Roth feels he owes Harvey Kitel the truth because of all the things he did for him saving his life and comforting when he's about to die. When you go through a near death experience you form a bond.
  • Tarantino did want to show the robbery in the film, but the budget wouldn't hold it, so he figured it best that what went down should be ominous. Smart movie, imo. What happens after is more interesting anyway, lol
  • according to Tarantino, they didn't shoot the heist scene because of the low budget. i'm actually glad they didn't as it helps tell a better more creative story
  • QT also wrote another great film called True Romance, but it was directed by Tony Scott. TONS of stars, too many to mention, and a terrific script. Love that film. And Reservoir Dogs as well.
  • This and PULP FICTION were the first Tarantino flicks I saw on VHS. Never knew what Reservoir Dogs was about, then I learned it's about a group of thieves begin to suspect that one of their own might be a traitor, following the aftermath of a failed jewelry heist.
  • I love how in Americs we're forced to tip because the employer doesn't do enough for their employee. Where in other countries people are like "wtf is a tip"
  • Tipping is such an insanely American thing. How about the restaurants just pay their fucking staff enough so that they can make a living, without having to rely on tips?
  • Freddy just watched Larry gun down some pretty old friends because of his manipulation. There was no way he'd be able to live with himself. Maybe he didn't WANT to die, but he probably felt like he deserved it. He couldn't blame Larry at all for trusting him, bc Larry had just watched him kill a civilian (which nobody else saw). That's what makes it such a great reveal. You can argue it was a motor reflex, self-preservation thing, but it didn't hurt his cover either, and the whole movie we're asking ourselves why Larry trusts him so much. Both of these points kind of get set up by the Long Beach Mike conversation, and Mr. Pink's point about trusting Vic on the grounds that he's "too homicidal to be working with the cops", respectively.
  • This is my FAVORITE QT film; just ahead of Pulp Fiction, Django. Kill Bill. and Jackie Brown. QT ‘s knack for dialogue is legendary, but his casting may be even more impressive.
  • Mr. Orange had been bleeding out for a while. He would have been delirious and on the verge of death. He probably had a genuine connection to mr white and all of these factors mixed in his head and blurted out shit that made sense to him as he was dying.
  • He came clean because it became different once they had actually been in the trenches together. Larry saved his life and Orange committed murder on accident as a police officer. It bonded them. It made Orange feel something for Larry. And if you listen closely you can hear Pink get stopped and shot by the police outside before the cops come into the warehouse before Orange and Larry's life is taken. The racial slurs are normal for people who have done prison time especially in LA. These are robbers and murderers, not exactly characters that would speak racially sensitively. What makes this movie great is that it pulls off being a heist movie and never shows the heist. It's very creative Filmmaking.
  • Quentin Tarantino worked at a video store and was influenced by the 1970s film The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three with Robert Shaw of JAWS fame, Walter Matthau of The Bad News Bears, and Martin Balsam(12 Angry Men) where he mentions different characters in colors which is why you get that in Reservoir Dogs,
  • @Keizi
this is a CLASSIC!! Such great and creative story telling at the time.
  • If you watch Pulp Fiction, some theory said the reason why the police didnt search or notice the car that Samuel Jackson and John Travolta characters has a blood after an accidental shot by Travolta because the police focus their full attention on the heist that Reservoir Dogs happens and yes, Mr Blonde is John Travolta character's brother
  • This film changed independent film forever. One of my favorites!
  • @ot7army45
Harvey Keitel's character is like a father figure to Tim Roth's character.. QT has even said this in one of his interviews.. On why Tim Roth revealed his identity was 'out of guilt'..
  • As a movie buff, of course you seen it. I was one of the lucky few who seen it in the theaters. Apparently only 65 theaters. Didn't know that at the time. Halifax Canada was a select City back then I guess.
