Dusting sucks. The Blueair Dust Magnet, a WiFi-enabled air purifier, promises to help reduce the amount of dusting you need to do, but does it actually work? And how much dust can this thing actually suck up from the air? We'll take you through our experience with the with the Dust Magnet after 6 months, how much less dusting we've needed to do and overall if we think the device is worth getting.

We'll also walk you through the Blueair mobile app, show you how it can connect to Alexa to smart home control, how long the filters in the Dust magnet are supposed to list, how to clean the pre-filters, things to keep in mind when placing your air purifier around the room and how the built-in particle sensors can help ramp up and down the fan as the air in your home changes.

I also have the 411 Auto and absolutely love it! I’ve had it for a couple years now. I’m looking into this model now. Thanks for the video!

Great video! I didn't realize I had to clean the trays. It had a lot of dust and dog fur after 6 weeks trapped.

The shelf at the top is such an underrated design choice. I could totally imagine similar devices like the Xiao Mi purifiers having this so that it doesn't just create a dead space.

If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. youtube.com/post/Ugkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLX… I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

Thanks for reviewing this product. The meaningful question IMO is how much more dust this removes than a more standard air purifier like Winix 5500-2 , Coway Mighty, Levoit Core models, or even the other Blueair Pure models. As you pointed out that furniture not immediately next to the device didn't experience much removal which makes me wonder if this is effectively a gimmick that doesn't really matter that much in the long run over a more cost effective air purifier like the other ones mentioned

Thanks for the review...! While more expensive, I'm a big fan (no pun intended) of Austin Air's Bedroom unit -- I own two...!

Watching this review just made me conscious that I'm not only breathing but I'm also breathing in dust. Nice review though.

Something I'm considering to purchase in the near future 😅😶

Costco has the Blueair 5415i. Is that the same as the 5410i?
  • @xenmaster1987
Would you recommend this over the newer model of the 211+? I’ve got 2 german Shepherds so my apartment is literally all dust. I can’t decide between this one of the newer 211? Any advice?

Great review! Thank you for the info. I just bought one. I can't seem to figure out how the filters are supposed to be inserted. I noticed that you installed the top one with the arrow pointing up and the bottom filter with the arrow pointing down. However, on Blueair's website it says to install them with both arrows pointing up. Are you certain that you installed them the right way? Thank you so much for your help!
  • @Yama_1291
Now to find an excuse to tax-deduct about 8 of these. I despise dust.
  • @MineJulRBX
There's more dust accumulating in a day than that collects in weeks. I need a serious magnet.
  • I believe you've inserted the filters in the wrong orientation. The arrows (which are hidden behind ribbons) need to be pointed upwards
  • @AlyxAugust
i had this and it sucked lol it literally did nothing special my dust amount in just a single room was no different after having this for like 2 weeks
  • @bellanails3838
do you think it would be good enough for at home nail tech/salon service since it is a ver small area.
  • I watch several videos read the instructions on the website. Everyone including you have the filters incorrectly. The website says both filters with arrows pointing up. You're the only one I saw thst had the filter on top with arrow up. But your bottom filter has arrow down. Someone please help!!!!!
