The one quality that Federer had above and beyond any player (past or present) was GRACE. Nadal hustles with frenetic energy and bustling athleticism, Novak has the complete game with little to no weaknesses, but Roger played with an effortless élan, a grace and fluidity that almost made him seem a ballet dancer. He made impossible shots with an artistry that defied and transcended the limitations the rest of us burden under. I think that's why it was so exhilarating to watch him play: he made the improbable rote, and the impossible seem easy, giving all of us a glimpse into how it would feel to truly fly.

When Roger plays it’s not a game but an art perfected to the precision. His footwork, balance, recovery and court coverage and his versatile shots are such a pleasure to watch. You can literally learn to play tennis just by watching his videos alone.

Just incredible. Anyone who has even attempted to play tennis knows how hard tennis is to master and this guy's talent is just miles above everyone. If had one-tenth his talent, I would be in the tour today. I will never forget this man. He is a true joy to watch and I consider myself so lucky that I witness every moment of his glorious career. I just feel sad that young children will never witness your talent. Unfortunately all great things must come to an end. I hope to see you in exhibitions with your friend Andy Roddick again. My favourite athlete :(( the day has come, been through the ups and downs, I’ll never forget how he won the AO in 17, Wimbledon in 17 & AO again in 18. Proved everyone wrong & helped inspired a martial artists like myself. I’m now 23 years old but tennis was the first sport I loved growing up! Thank you for everything! All aboard the fedexpress!

I don’t see myself going back watching videos from his main competitors once they have retired. Can’t get enough of watching Federer though. I believe as humans we always long for beauty as it elates the soul and evokes emotions. This is what I experience watching this. Pure joy.
