Well, you asked for it, so here it is! Disney's BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT (so far)! Wish!

Set in a kingdom named Rosas, a young sorcerer's apprentice named Asha would set out on a mission with a magical star to defeat an evil dark magic before it can destroy everyone's wishes.

Saw this in an empty theater, and that would be enough of a warning to brace myself into what was coming. Supposedly Disney's "biggest movie" that's a "century in the making", 'Wish' flopped HARD across the board, being yet again another casualty to their box office flops of 2023. Let's take a look on what went wrong, and what might've gone right. This is, Disney's 'Wish'!

Don't worry guys, Asha's a Disney Princess in MY eyes lol ⭐

This movie could’ve been SO GOOD if they used the original ideas like Starboy and maybe sticked to 2D animation. It could’ve been like one of Disney’s all-time-greats. But Disney is just cowards 😒

What do you mean straight up evil? Bro has PTSD from when his original kingdom was ransacked and pillaged. He panics when he notices someone else is using magic in the kingdom. Fearing it is a challenger. So he resorts to Dark Magic that takes him over. Magnifico is the fallen hero of this story. Asha is the evil greedy witch.

We were ROBBED of the star being a person! ROBBED

It's weird how they put a lot of detail on the characters' faces and hair, like freckles, blushed cheeks, and gave their eyes detailing, but the details on the clothes and the rest of their bodies look like they were forgotten about by the shading team. And the background characters look so plastic and lifeless, even when they're moving. They almost move like Wii characters.

They should’ve had the Queen sing the duet with her husband instead of Asha. She wants to help her husband fulfill his dreams but seeing him turn into a narcissist ruler over the decades has her torn between the man she knew and her citizen’s wishes. She wants to protect them both ‘at all costs’.
  • We were robbed. We could’ve had an evil couple and a star romance. Also as for the animation they originally wanted 2D but then decided on a mix of 2D and 3D. I don’t understand how it looks like this they already have the perfect 2D and 3D blend animation that they used for the short film Paperman. What would’ve worked more was if the king and queen were both evil and Asha was their daughter. Then Asha would’ve grown up thinking that keeping the wishes was the right thing and star boy had to help show her the right way. Also it would add a lot more to Asha’s character by standing against her parents since for all the other Disney princesses with evil parents they’re always stepparents (Lady Tremaine, Evil Queen, and Gothel). So the fact that a princesses actual parents are evil would’ve been so cool. I get wanting villains like the Evil Queen back but Magnifico should've been the sympathetic villain that is way too overprotective and wants to protect everyone due to his own trauma Also I wouldn't make Asha quirky I mean she can definitely have somethings but not as much as they did. I would make her more similar to Elsa and Mulan personality rather than Anna and Rapunzel. You could even keep the seven friends but make them people who have already given up their wishes so they're basically just miserable and Asha has to help them. Simon could still have his betrayal but add onto why he wants to be Magnifico's knight. He could be a friend that has a crush on Asha so he wants to become a knight to impress and protect her I would also change Asha's color palette and name. Purple reminds me too much of Rapunzel and Isabella. I wish they stuck with the orange red color palette from the concept art. In my rewrite I would also name her Luna instead of Asha since Luna means moon and the movie is about stars Also why is the kingdom of wishes called Rosas that means Roses it would make more sense if the kingdom was called Estrellas which literally means Stars.

I did NOT let Valentino speak in my rewrite 💀
  • @clearsh8013
I think a Disney Movie with a prince instead of a princess would be fire
  • The song writer Julia Michaels was done dirty they literally gave her a description with three weeks to write the songs and then that's it they never let her change or try to fix things to better fit. Songwriters are usually always involved throughout the entire movie production look at Alan Menken and Lin Manuel Miranda who are two of Disney's best songwriters
  • @Lordodragonss
Magnifico is treated as unreasonable for saying that the granddad's wish of wanting to write songs could be dangerous Then at the end, he's defeated by a song, proving he was 100% right.
  • The song "This Is The Thanks I Get" wasn't bad bad, but it feels like it was made for those parents who always talk in your ear like: "I carried you for 9 months, I changed your diapers and and fed you, I sent you to school and let you live here for free and this is how you are going to treat me? This is the thanks I get??"
  • I had a dream last night where Magnifico and Asha had a rap battle! 😭
  • I love how the song At All Cost is clearly from when starboy was still in concept. Like have you heard the demo they literally said the words love but changed it to promise for the final version. I listened to the movie version before seeing the movie and I bet you can imagine my confusion at what is clearly a love song being sang between a grown man and teenage girl. Disney freaking wasted Chris Pine
  • @COCKMAN-sm3ie
Not to mention the early drafts of the script were GREAT!!! With the star boy and the queen being evil too!! Disney had their chance to make a great film to celebrate their one hundred year anniversary… and they BLEW IT!!!! >:( >:( >:(
  • Asha is basically the storybook equivalent of a Bank Robber Especially since the opening states Magnifico PROTECTS wishes & only promises to maybe grant them, like a Bank protects your valuables & maybe invest in your portfolio
  • @catkitten8364
Wish is a pefect representation of Disney: A shell of it's former self
  • Disney's Wish: "Remember how we made good movies for years, these past 100 years? Now look how far we've fallen and GIVE US YOUR MONEY"
  • The peanuts movie was also a anivisery movie , and unlike the this movie, it actually fells like a celebration of its respective ip, and it ACTUALLY honors its creator with great animation. Wish just fells like a cash grab that just uses “reference “ as a way to honor its anniversary. Not even a message from Walt Disney himself at the end.
  • The fact that people actually FORGOT about when this film first came out in threatens really says a lot about Disney’s current state. Especially since it was on their 100th Year Anniversary. And they got one upped by an Adam Sandler movie of all things! 💀💀
