Can only imagine how insufferable it would be to have a lead role in a show built around a friendship that includes someone you wouldn’t even want to be friends with

Jennette McCurdy's mother wasn't just highly controlling, she was also physically and sexually abusive to her from an early age through her teens, even through all of ICarly. It's the reason she has no good memories of the show and doesn't want to return.

Bro did not plead guilty to absolutely heinous shit? The girl lied about her age, and her story was ripped apart and drake was proven to have stopped contact after he found out her real age, and then she still stalked him

Jennette talked extensively in her book about “the creator” (Dan Schitthole) being emotionally manipulative and insanely creepy. She sites a lot of f’ed up stories about him on set and how made a kid cry when he fired him, he used to take her out to one on one dinner “dates” and pressure her to drink and say gross creepy shit to her all night. He even told her she’d only get her own show if she did everything he ever asked of her…. Fucking nasty. There’s a lot in there and the book is a great read, especially if you’re as fascinated by the twisted underbelly of the entertainment industry as I am😅

There’s nothing wrong with just saying “we used to be great friends, and I’m disgusted by who he turned out to be.” Like…by blatantly lying about ever being close it just makes Josh look weird lol

I love how Charlie absolutely DECIMATES his keyboard whenever he types. Like I envision the keys flying everywhere as his fingers punch through the entire thing, sparks shooting out of it as he leaves holes behind all throughout the keyboard.

10:03 “when he smiles, his eyes don’t” THATS SO REAL, I’ve been trying to put this into words for years and you did it for me Charlie! 😂
  • @imberrysandy
Being a joke or a character to clown all throughout childhood.... that slight evil smile, you know Josh is a super villian in the making

Bro it's actually pretty sad how many times Nickelodeon actors talk about bad experiences as kids and it always links to Dan Schneider.

I never knew McCurdy and Sam were so alike. The character Sam had an eating disorder and an awful mother. Must've been pretty awful for her to play the character.

About “I’m glad my mom died,” it’s an amazing autobiography. Jenette McCurdy never liked acting, and the way she told her story was heartbreaking
  • @Chosen_One
Lol this went from my childhood being ruined to a dude I never heard of because my parents had MTV blocked as a kid
  • @tayyrific947
Jennette has said on her podcast that she worked with an emotionally abusive producer who would yell at the cast and tell them if it weren't for him they would be working at yogurtland. She never said it was Dan but you can put 2 and 2 together.
  • I’ll be real man Josh is lying out of his ass to avoid being canceled. There’s just no way.

I feel so bad for Jennette McCurdy. Through that whole generation of memories we all had she was suffering, it's hard to think about and so unfair. It also sucks that Nickelodeon will never really pay for the behavior they allowed and the monsters they still enable.
  • @st5rne
seeing this a year later after quiet on set feels wild, like he was right about josh’s evil eyes 👀 like him supporting dan schnieder and everything
  • @Bingo4651
I thought Jennette McCurdy said that Dan Schneider “tried to help with her eating disorder” by making her character Sam obsessed with food. I’m pretty sure she said that just ended up making it worse/ triggering her.
  • @-Bert-
I remember watching that episode of Drake apologizing to Josh as a kid and was so damn sad. Weird that they could hate each other and have such great chemistry on screen.
  • @megan2133
With Jennet McCurdy, her book (I’m glad my mom died) gave a huge amount of insight to the terrible conditions of child acting. She discussed her eating disorders (encouraged wildly by her mother), and Dan schmiders manipulation. She mentions at the end of the book that nick TV offered 300k (I believe) as hush money
  • Honestly as a kid I remember watching Drake and Josh and just never being able to get through the show without getting so heated about the way the characters treated Josh. I'm not so surprised to hear that they really didnt get along in reality.
