Films have always had a special place in my heart. Growing up, my family would always watch films together as an activity. We would laugh together, cry together, and talk for hours about our interpretations of an abstract film. Even though I loved watching films, I didn't think I would end up creating them. When I was doing Film Studies at the University of Sydney, I fell in love with the process of filmmaking after doing some short film projects using my iPhone, and yearned to learn more. Sydney Film School helped me confirm that my passion lies behind the camera, and that this is what I want to do for a living.

In "The Tunnel", I wanted to tell a story using metaphores and supernatural elements, becuase I think that's where cinema really shines in terms of storytelling. Using a visual and editing style that I started developing in my iPhone projects, I tried to make the film connect with people emotionally. I am quite proud of how my first proper short film turned out despite many issues and learning opportunities during the shoot.
