Update: February 26th 2024, Hungary (last of 31 countries) has officially agreed on Sweden joining NATO!
  • Truly beautiful how many actually good channels still exist on youtube 😁
  • 5:54 When De Gaulle told the Americans to leave, President Eisenhower’s response was: “oh, should we take the ones in their graves in Normandy too?” I think that one definitely caught the French off guard.

I wish history lessons in school were presented this way. Very profession and easy to follow.

13:14 You mention the April 2008 Bucharest Summit, where it was stated that Georgia and Ukraine will become future members of NATO; and Russia's negative reaction. You omit to mention the 2008 Georgian War that followed that summer - quite an important event and a foreshadowing of what might happen to Ukraine. Russia could not countenance Crimea (especially) becoming part of NATO.

Why is it so interesting learning something that I already know everything about?
  • @axqer
this right here is quality content. I loved this video so much, I appreciate all the information that you have provided me with.
  • I think you missed out how half of NATO was incredibly opposed to the Iraq war it was a mostly unilateral action on the part of the UK and USA

So much knowledge crammed into these videos. Brilliant 👏
  • These videos are always well made and very instructive in pulling together a long view, even for people who already know quite a bit about the details. Every history course should start with one of these just to get the general timeline established in an engaging way.
  • Wow this was excellent, just enough deatil but not too much to make it overwhelming. Thank you!
