Lyrics:
Day-o, Day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Me say day, me say day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Work all night on a drink a' rum
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Stack banana till the mornin' come
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Come, Mister tally man, tally me banana
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Come, Mister tally man, tally me banana
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Lift six foot, seven foot, eight foot BUNCH!
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Six foot, seven foot, eight foot BUNCH!
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Day, me say day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day...
Daylight come and me wan' go home
A beautiful bunch a' ripe banana
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Hide the deadly black tarantula
Daylight come and me wan' go home
Lift six foot, seven foot, eight foot BUNCH!

Meanwhile Kevin was home alone.

Fun fact, Burton had to be convinced to keep this in as he personally finds it unfunny and annoying.
-
who is here after the trailer?
-
“The Juice is Loose”
-
Catherine O'Hara's acting really sold this scene.
-
One does not simply hear this song and not think about this Beetlejuice scene.
-
There's no way anyone watching the movie the first time could even vaguely predict what happens after she says "I would rather talk about ..." So utterly brilliant.
-
One of Tim Burton's strangest but funniest flicks! It's grown on me over the years.
-
The song is just so random. I never get tired of this scene.
-
"I would rater talk about-" "DAY-O"
-
The looks on everyone's faces, their acknowledgement that they are doing this against their will, and Otho's line: "That's cute, Delia" make this scene for me.
-
0:36 i really like the detail of her winking at Linda to let her know it's Adam and Barbara possessing them. Makes this scene so much better.
-
one of the most iconic scenes in movie history

I like how that one Asian woman got really into it Edit: some of y’all need to calm down. It don’t matter what bra she has on, it don’t matter if she’s Japanese or not. But I’m concerned that some of you don’t know Japan is in Asia 👀

Hearing this song in the Beetlejuice 2 trailer brought back so many good memories of this scene.

MY CHILDHOOD IS COMING BACK FROM THE 80's TO Beetlejuice 2 :P
-
Best part of the video (aside from the song, of course) is how the actors were all able to do the dance number while looking like they didn't WANT to be doing it-- since the ghosts were controlling them. That was probably difficult to do.
-
In terms of possessions, this seems like a best case scenario.
-
One the biggest reasons as to why this scene means a lot to me is because it reminds me of my grandmother. She loved this song so much she would randomly sing this song inside the house and dance around. Whenever I hear this song or watch this scene it reminds me of her. ❤
