Wow, he did a remarkable job at keeping his parts separate and clear. That is the hardest for me during my work with polarized parts. Thanks guys!
  • @thezzach
Brilliant. This kind of courageous sharing of vulnerability while working through personal challenges is priceless. Thank you so much!
  • @Judymontel
Deeply moving. Thank you both - Ty for your courage and openess. Dr. Schwartz for your expertise and kindness.
  • @myronschabe
Really appreciate this guy volunteering this session! Thank you!
  • These are major issues this man is dealing with, which typically takes years to focus on (having done so myself.) The fact that this man can confront himself, now, in one session tells us how serious he is in growing. Great session!
  • Bravo, Ty!! This is beautiful work, and so helpful to see it demonstrated after hearing about this type of therapy and how it works. Thank you for being willing to let Dr. Schwartz record your session for us to see!❤
  • I could relate to those two internal guys, I have them too... work hard vs relax, and neither one ever gets enough of me. All or nothing. You showed a good friendly outcome and a compromise! It felt like a victory✌
  • I agree that this man’s openness for change and commitment to the process is commendable and a HUGE factor in his development. I definitely believe that the potential for the IFS model to facilitate transformation through honest assessment of one’s multi-dimensional needs and their innate capacity for compassion and flexible thinking in the interest of healing the whole person is truly incredible.
  • This young man is an inspiration, seeking self-awareness and personal growth.

Ty is SO good at this as a client, that it almost makes it hard to imagine how to work with a client who does not find it easy to get into this stuff. He pictures these "guys" his polarized parts, dresses them in their representative clothes, is easily able to locate them in his body, and comfortable quietly talking to them and having them talk to each other. Many clients are not so facile.
  • IFS Is probably next to Brain-spotting which I have been a part of both for all I would say brain spotting was first and then after about a year and six months I was introduced to 1 IFS by my trauma therapist I have been fire fighting for 35 years attempted suicide two years ago because of the Darkside caught up with me but I never wanted to stop fire fighting I want to help people these two types of therapy plus my therapist saved my life and save my fire fighting and my marriage. Thank you both for the video
  • Most appreciative for your willingness to share this dialog publicly. Thank you, Ty! Hope y'all have continued to benefit from the insights and connections you made here!
  • I love seeing Richard Schwartz do these demos. As a person is who is training to learn this modality myself with Derek Scott. I can see the similarities and differences each IFS therapist brings to the table. Thank you for sharing these!
  • @mickeyp1291

  • @willd6215
Beautiful process. I'm actually moved and excited by this type of therapy
  • @tedroy13
IFS has changed my therapy practice like nothing else, I've trained in!
  • Thank you Dr. Schwartz and Ty for letting us see your session. Ty is great at this type of work on himself. If you ever need a volunteer for a demo, I would love to! Dr. Schwartz, I am always in awe when I watch you in session. It comes so natural to you. I hope that I will be able to do that as well. When I get licensed as an MFT. Thank you again for sharing!
