Primary school children are the lowest risk both to themselves and to society
Children are half to a third as likely to acquire the virus
When it comes to transmitting they are probably half as likely to transmit it as adults
That risk actually gets smaller as you go into younger age groups
I am not a great fan of young children wearing face masks
If I had to invest in a single activity to improve the environment both for the children and the adults, I'd be looking at improving the ventilation,
unsealing windows that have been painted shut and kept shut for energy-saving reasons
That would be a much more effective way to reduce transmission in schools

Isn't it wonderful to see Campbellonians from all around the world saying hello every morning? Dr. John (and faithful Winston) brings everyone together with his calm demeanor, brilliant explanations and steadfast optimism. We shall see this through! MBE/OBE worthy indeed!
-
I read a great quotation from a Dr on Twitter. He was asked which vaccine is the best one? His answer was superb: "The best vaccine is the one you're offered".

Dr Campell has the best comment section! People of all ages, from all over the world are all here being rational, sensible and factual! Cheers from the U.K!

Hi John. I posted this under the K2 & D3 video in error. I'm a community pharmacist who also ran a YPV home Vit D test 6 weeks ago and like you was quite shocked to get what I considered to be a low result of 14ng/ml - considering that I had been supplementing with 3,000-4,000iu 3-4 times per week. So I decided to up my dose to 9,000iu every day and increase my Magnesium intake with Mg Citrate 200mg & Mg rich foods (Chia seeds, Hemp seeds, green leafy veg, almond butter etc) to ensure conversion to bioactive form. I retested 6 weeks later (last Wednesday, 3rd March) to the further shock that my level had gone up a mere 2ng to 16ng/ml. I decided I needed a second opinion so I sent off for a Forth Vitamin D test which needs a bigger blood sample & is sent off to a lab. The sample was taken on 4th March (one day later) & result came back on 7th March at 115nmol/L (46ng/ml). I'm very concerned about this discrepancy and no longer have confidence to stock the YPV test in my pharmacy. I think the accuracy of the YPV test should be investigated. Thanks for your very informative videos. Eoghan O'Brien, Bannside Pharmacy

Thank you so much. I'm in Dubai and your videos are the highlights of my days as I've been in strict quarantine since March 2020. It saves me hours of research so I feel you are not only giving us clear and concise data but also saving us from hours of just looking for the correct info.

THANK YOU JOHN. As you may NOT realize, you and I have been having these calm, informative chats over coffee for about a year, and I feel like we are friends across the pond. Highly appreciating all your research and preparation in Chicago.

My son of 32 has Down Syndrome - he is the most wonderful precious person. I can't wait for him to get the vaccine. We have been keeping him safe since March last year - he hasn't been out our home. We have been through 3 serious ventilations with Ryan for pneumonia - 2017 was for H1N1. With love from South Africa 🇿🇦

The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, called ChAdOx1, was approved for use in Canada today.

I appreciate your sense Dr John that prepping every can day get a little boring but you can see from all the comments that you are our 'safe place' . We watch it all, even though you are considerate enough to give a summary up front. I can only echo the many comments reflecting that it isn''t an unquestioing public you have here, but intelligent folks who like your explanations of the med/tech stuff and can spot there's no BS. And we share your (nearly) hidden exasperation when governments or similar ignore the data/facts as in Vit D for s long time, or ventilation which the BBC seems to have just discoverd a year after you were forwarding the comon sense of it as a method proven in the past. DON'T stop, we're not bored with you!!!

Good morning from Kodiak Alaska, drinking a cup of tea looking at the pacific, stay safe everyone

I've had the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine and I'm very grateful for it. Our youngest adult child has also now been added to the clinically extremely vulnerable group. I really hope they get vaccinated soon. Their partner has been vaccinated now I believe.

As an old lady with RA, I have felt fully informed and aware, and therefore much less afraid, through following you almost from the beginning!!! So thanks. You’re correct!! It IS good to communicate, and glad that I am that you do lol.

Can't say this enough: THANK YOU, Dr. Campbell!

Canada has just given approval the Oxford AstraZeneca . Announced 30 mins ago

Dr. Campbell: "If I had to invest in a single activity to improve the environment both for the children and the adults, I'd be looking at improving the ventilation, unsealing windows that have been painted shut and kept shut for energy-saving reasons. ---- I'd agree and add to that a common practice from a century and more ago—create classrooms that are flooded with sunshine and get them outdoors even when it's cold. They may not have known then what we know today about Vitamin D. But they could see that sunshine was healthy for kids.

Even though I always watch alone, I invariably say out loud "Thank you, Dr John" as you draw each talk to a close ..... and I really mean it! Great work! :o)

Thanks Dr for all the hours of background work that is put in. It is appreciated as you can see by 900000.!
