I got the chance to see him in concert in 1980. In my military uniform, was walking past the venue when someone asked me if I wanted his ticket since he had to work that night. Truly a blessing to get a chance that I wasn't expecting. To whoever you were that gave me that ticket, THANK YOU!!

My heart dropped a country mile when Roy passed away, I had met him while moving furniture for a company that catered to music stars. A brief meeting meant I would never forget his voice and love it to this very day...

There will never be another Orbison. the man defined the word Legend , an oft-used word seldom deserved by whom it was aimed at but in Orbison's case it was a true description. Many songs define that epic voice, Running Scared is a fine example which made the hairs on your neck stand with the intensity,Walk on,Love Hurts and Crawling Back are other fine examples. My own personal favourite is A Love So Beautiful as it is so full of emotion that it could break the hardest of hearts and even a grumpy old dog's like mine I have been an Orbison fan for more years than I can remember and I still love to sit and let his music wash all over me.

Apache Junction Az 1985-ish, at a Circle K in the middle of nowhere I recognized his silhouette through a heavily tinted Volkswagen, his driver was in the convenience store, and so was my girlfriend. My girlfriend came out first and I told her who it was but I could not remember his name. There were Tennessee tags on the car. I said that’s the guy that sings the song pretty woman. So she went over and knocked on the window, he rolled it down and she asked him are you the guy that sings that song pretty girl… he laughed.. he said yes but it’s called pretty woman. This was in a gravel parking lot in the middle of nowhere. 🙂

I thought Roy Orbison was one of the most Beautifullest singers. He could sing in seven octaves. He was a better singer than Elvis Presley ever thought about being. My mom liked Elvis Presley. I did like Elvis too but I liked Roy Orbison better he’s one of the great ones. May he rest in peace miss him and miss his great music I wonder what he would be like today and he lived long enough. I often wonder the same thing about John Lennon. And George Harrison too. Thanks for the video. Have a beautiful day.👍❤️😁🥲🎸🎼🎵🎶☮️
  • From his struggle with personal tragedies to his unparalleled musical legacy, Orbison's story is a poignant reminder of the power of resilience and creativity.

I loved his music, he was one of my favorites. I used to sing "Pretty Woman" to my wife! Great memories!
  • I love all his music but the best for me is In Dreams. This man had a magnificent voice, and I listen to his music very often.
  • A love so beautiful.A man so wonderful! All his songs touch our hearts. I can listen to him all day long. There will never be a singer anymore like Roy. Your songs will go on for generations and generations, till the end of times. Rest in peace with Almighty God and His angels❤

I consider myself fortunate to have seen Roy Orbison perform live on two separate occasions. Although these shows were just a few years from what we now know to have been some of his final performances - he never failed to bring the audience to their feet and a wild frenzy when he hit those notes that everyone knew were coming. Many folks I know listen to music and only hear the tune, I hear the tune also but I pay close attention to the lyrics and the story the song tells. Nobody told better stories in their songs that Roy Orbison. Ask a hundred people what their favorite Roy Orbison song is and the predictable answer is "Pretty Woman" and while that is a great song and universally recognized as Roy's song, my all time favorite Orbison song is and will always be, "In Dreams". If you haven't heard it for some time, look it up nd listen, really listen to the story the song tells. Fabulous song writing and performance. Rest In Peace, Roy, you have earned it.

The most important part of Roy’s career is when he used all of his talents to create a great sound unlike any other musician who ever worked in the industry. ROY ORBISON WAS A GIFTED VOICE LIKE ELVIS PRESLEY ONLY WITHOUT THE GREAT LOOKS AND CHARM! ROY ORBISON MADE IT ON HIS OWN SOUNDS! This is why Roy Orbison is in my book greater than Elvis Presley because Roy proved that raw God given talents are just as great as beauty that’s only skin deep! I enjoyed hearing Roy’s music in my youth and I was a little one when I first hear Roy sing!
