How To Connect A Soundbar | HDMI, ARC, Optical, Coaxial, Bluetooth

OMG! After having my Vizio soundbar for a couple of years, I finally took it out of the box and decided to try and hook it up. So, I read the first couple of pages of the quick start guide (which was 3/4 of an inch thick), and then I needed help with which audio cable to use and which por😢ts to use. Well, my first search came up with this video. I kid you not, I listened to no more than 15 seconds of your video and I am now listening to my soundbar! I cannot vouch for the rest of this video, but it sure told me what to do in my situation in the first 15 seconds. Thank you so much!!!

Completely brilliant - thanks Caleb. I have watched several other soundbar setup videos, but no help at all. Have been tearing my hair out for several days because I couldn't get it to work at all (LG soundbar with TCL TV). Also, the instructions which came with the soundbar were hopeless. The key point was the requirement to turn on the CEC setting on the TV. Only your video highlighted this point. Now all is well!! Many thanks for your help

Your video is straight to the point, and I understood everything. I realized I hooked my tv and soundbar to the hdmi instead of arc. I'm also getting a 2.0 arc cable for 4k instead of an old hdmi. Simply thanks ❤

I can't thank you enough for your step by step instructions. I have been trying to hook up my sound bar for days without success until you showed where the little input cord could connect to red glowing input. Once Ii plugged that in the sound bar came on immediately. Thanks a million!

Thank you for the help!! My son told me what cable to buy since I have an older wired sound bar. I couldn't figure out how to get it to work...didn't realize I had to go thru audio instead of directly to sound bar. Works perfectly now...thanks again for the help!! 😊

Spent about four hours hooking it up and trying to get it to work. Nothing. Tried every reconfiguration I could think of. Then I watched your video and saw the CRC setting. And Wala. There it is. Thank you so much. Wish I could give more thumbs up…

Thank you so much for this video. I was able to quickly follow and get up and running in NO time! It was the poor TV settings. My son took the PS5 and ran...left me with no sound! I'm so happy it was the TV and purchasing another HDMI cord.

So if some has a TV (like an LG C2) with and HDMI port supporting eARC/ARC, does the receiver need to have ARC support or can it receive sound input from the TV without video and just not have all the fun that ARC and eARC support as far as sending volume and power control down stream?

However, I have someone house-sitting for me soon so decided to try and sync it again and found this easy to follow video. Thank you! Having to go into my Firestick settings to turn on my soundbar each time was driving me crazy!

Very helpful. I couldn’t get my sound at to work so I had called Sony and the rep was no help she told me to call the TV manufacturer and she was even less helpful. After watching your video I got it working. Thank you sooooo much 😊❤

Thank you so much for the accurate and thourogh directions to connect the Polk sound bar and subwoofer to my tv. I'm going to try the HDMI ARC method in the future to get the optimal sound out of the sound bar but I'm super happy with the sound I'm getting now. Amazing difference for a very reasonable cost. 👍🖥 🔊 🎶

Just got new Vizio M series 70" you recently reviewed and my soundbar only has one hdmi port and wanted my firestick to use soundbar too so I opted for optical connection. May update to sound bar with multiple hdmi inputs to connect firestick to it. For sound quality would you recommend that and is HDMI noticeably better than optical in your opinion?
