On this channel, I like to cover games that have failed, games that have died, nostalgic stuff, and games that are awesome. In today's video, we talk about Titanfall 1 and Titanfall 2 and tell the story of how they were killed by a hacker.

For those of you who are unaware, there is currently a client mod out for Titanfall 2 that restores the multiplayer to it's former glory. It is called the Northstar client and while I don't know much about it, it makes it to where you can continu playing Titanfall 2 even today. Check it out here: github.com/R2Northstar/Northstar/releases
  • Jeanue is an actual Redditor like wtf. Imagine being that pitiful a person that you would dedicate hours no years of your life to ruining a game just because you got your cheeks clapped. Dudes got no maidens

Both Titanfall games were incredible and shining beacons of consumer friendly practices and giving the fans what they want. People wanted a more in depth campaign? TF2 made one of the best FPS campaigns ever. People wanted more interesting Pilot and Titan customization? TF2 did that. Even all the main content of the game was free updates other than some cosmetic skins which even then were only about $3. AND THIS WAS AN EA GAME.

Jeanue killed 2 games only because he had skill issue... I love humanity.

Blame can be shifted towards: Respawn for letting it go on, The hacker for destroying the servers, and the community for going against each other's throats in a time where they needed to stay united and strong.

It disgusts me how respawn entertainment used Titanfall 2 as a marketing tool and saying: "Titanfall is in our DNA" to simply abandon it because apex was bringing in more money
  • Been playing vanilla titanfall 2 consistently for a month now, the queue times continue to get faster and faster. It is truly wonderful and I am glad the game works, I've even seen a large number of new players flood in after the sales.

There's this article about school shooters titled Don't name them, because naming them incentivizes to go out and do it again. I would say the same happens with hackers, so if we could get them in the anonymity it would be better for everyone playing any game

I loved Titanfall and 2. I hate multiplayer games with a passion, because I never have time to sit-down and grind through multiplayer and it brings out a side of me I really don’t like… The multiplayer felt cinematic, the NPCs were genius because it made the game have a sense of scale.

How Respawn abandoned this IP is unforgiveable. As soon as they made Apex and got a taste of that freemium money, they immediately left the game to die. They did the gaming equivalent of leaving your wife because you can't be bothered to deal with her cancer diagnoses. Absolutely disgusting. Titanfall 2 did so many things right. The community loved and praised Respawn as passionate developers who cared. And as a reward for our dedication, they spat in our face. Screw you, buy our lootboxes. How about no Respawn. You specifically advertised Titanfall 2 as being consumer friendly without lootboxes, then immediately turned around after sabotaging your own game with a terrible release window. Complete sellouts. Respawn and EA deserve each other.
  • Some people really have nothing better to do with their time that ruin other peoples fun. There needs to be more accountability for people who do stuff like this online.

Titanfall Fans: Have you heard the tragedy of Titanfall the great? It's not a story Respawn would tell you. It's a gaming legend, so great and so fun, it could give you hours of fun playtime a day. It had such power that it could create a true game in a time of lootboxes and pay to win. Unlike it's counterparts some would consider Titanfall to be unprofitable, it was so great that the only thing it should fear was losing it's developers, which of course it did. Unfortunately it was destroyed by hackers, its fans. Ironic it's developers could save their fans and give them hope, yet they couldn't save their own game.

Considering that selling a "faulty" product is illegal in some places, I could see why Respawn and EA took down TF1, but because this guy was causing not one, but 2 products to suffer, one unworking and the other just barely working, he can and should be sued for the determent of revenue to Respawn and EA, money talks, and that's the only language EA and Respawn seem to speak as of late.
  • interesting how 2 totally different games called tf2 have similar problems.
  • @andrejpopovic52
I cant believe that respawn cant fix a game that made them who they are.
  • @FaultyStar274
Imagine scaring the shit out of Activision to the point they make advanced movement shooters to counter you, only to get hacked on.
  • @Mediados
Respawn: "Look at our second installment!" Players: "Wow this is really good!" Respawn: "And we made a BR better than Fortnite!" Players: "Man it even plays very similar to Titanfall!" Respawn: "Titanfall?"

Titanfall 2 on PC is far from dead. The playercount is surging and even if attacks resume, people can circumvent them by using the new Northstar mod client. Instead of being all doom and gloom, how about you add on the Happy Ending at the end for Titanfall 2. I play the game daily and I can tell you there’s even a ton of new players flowing in, and a lot of old players coming back. There isn’t just hope for the game, Titanfall 2 is being actively not just maintained, but updated with new content by a community developer. New Gamemodes are even being added.

Titan fall 2 was my first first person shooter that I actually took the time to get good at. I loved that game so much but after while it took to long to find a game sadly
