To the Persian king Sam (yes, really) was born a son named Zal--whose only negative trait was his white hair, which apparently horrified the king enough to cast him out to the mountains. No worries--Zal was going turn out fine. And we mean, really fine. bit.ly/EMPatreon

Sam was just worried because he got an Anime protagonist for a son and he knows parents of Anime Protagonists never come out unscathe
-
1:35 Sam: Oh no! My son is going to be an anime protagonist!
-
The character dynamics in here are really interesting. Sam makes a mistake and begs forgiveness, which he gets. Zal gives Rudabeh's servants jewels and a message, and the servants don't immediately scheme to undercut her somehow. He also passes his tests with no divine help, and Rudabeh's disapproving father doesn't back out of the deal. I get the feeling that if this were, say, a Greek myth, half the people involved would be dead after a whole bunch of lies and miscommunication.

"she was more beautiful than the moon" -keeps animating her face all contorted
-
Good thing Bird Mom didn't skimp on Zal's education!
-
"Nah I'm good; I brought a rope." Apparently Zal is a DnD character. Never go adventuring without a good length of rope. Never.
-
Servant: "My King, the queen had a son!" King: "Hell yeah!" Servant: "Aaaaand he's got white hair" King: Deep breath in "...GRIFFITH!"
-
Zal just drops all the philosophy answers in a long string all at once. Talk about a power move.
-
Man, must be nice to have Ultra Instinct from birth. Zal sure is lucky. Edit: Bahaha, that Rapunzel shade, though. Nice.
-
Sam IS an epic mythical name. Samwise the true hero of middle earth 🌏
-
He knew he was the father of an Anime protagonist.
-
"Nah, I brought a rope." Dude has brawn AND brains. I need more stories like that.
-
"Theres a large nation far into Asia and it's ruled by a guy named... "Sam" "

I'm from Iran and really excited to watch these recent videos on Persian myths. Thanks so much for that :) btw Zal in Persian means albino
-
"Sexy moon girl? Hell yeah!" -Zal.
-
Simorgh, a name which strikes fear into the hearts of ancient Persians and modern readers of superhero web serials alike.

Rudabeh: "So what is your dad's name again?" Zal: "Sam." Rudabeh: "Haha. Seriously, what is his name?" Zal: "Sam." Rudabeh: "Wow." Simorgh: "I know. That is a really weird name, and I am a giant bird with the head of a dog and the legs a lion."
