I started cutting my own hair beginning covid. It took me around 1 year to get to the point where I can get away with it and I am actually starting to learn how to fade. Few tips that I have: take your time, don't cut too much. And don't worry if your haircut doesn't look the same as all these YouTube guides, your hair is different. I got asian hair, so very spikey, so when I cut it like the tutorials, it would be sticking up a lot, so i can't go too low. Learn from your mistake. For me I think I need another 2 years to get to the point where i am 100% happy with my skills. I am already 80% cool with what I can do, but learning how to fade and blend my haircut is the next step
  • Love the way you fade your nape cowlicks. My brother have some crazy whorls on the back and your videos helped me a lot to cut his hair!

Just want to give you a big thanks for your videos. Through trial and error I finally perfected my self-haircuts. Scary at first but so worth it. I’ve been following you since the beginning of the pandemic and still continue to follow your videos to refresh. I practically fired my barber lol. Fresh cuts every week if I want to and $ave lots of $. Thanks for what you do! From Hawaii to you “Mahalo!”

Thanks for the tutorial. I really struggle with cutting the top with scissors so I use a number 10 guard on the clippers to trim it as evenly as possibly without going short.

Nice i been searching everywhere for a good tutorial on how to cut your own hair
  • Very good video. I’ve been following your last video of this haircut and because of you I’ve saved so much money. I can’t believe how easy it is to cut your own hair. All the hairdressers have increased their prices soooo high up since COVID and I just didn’t want to pay ridiculous amounts. But from your amazing videos I’m now self taught and I cut all the boys hairs in my home too. With the money saved I invested in hair clippers and cut my own hair too. People are shocked when I tell them I cut it myself. GREAT UPDATED VERSION! This video has more detail.
