Pro Climber pretends to be Old Man and tries all the hardest routes

If an old man comes into my gym with a camera crew I'm expecting Olympic level feats of strength.

I'm from Sheffield, and our climbing gyms have at least one old man per day who can somehow cling like spiders to the most ridiculous inclines. Props to them ❤

The oldest climber I ever climbed with was a 80 year old woman from the British mountaineering club - the mid 1990s. She climbed harder than me, was fearless, and pushed my limits as a second when she climbed past the length of the belay rope, requiring addition of every sling, and line I had within reach in my kit. On a route that was definitely not suited to both of us off the ground. Then after my own heart, she down climbed to her previous clip point 35m below her top out, before abseiling off. This was adventure climbing, and she had chosen a route none have repeated to this day.

When Magnus is 70 years old, I really hope he is still making climbing videos and recreate this video as an actual 70 year old man.

I love how the attendant ignores his age and keeps pushing him based on the skills he’s seeing. After the old man says he can’t feel his arms, at 16:05 the attendant says “Would you like to take a few minutes then try something even harder?” 🎉

After meeting an 80 year old guy in the gym who’s still in great shape and seeing another old guy doing weighted pull ups, I’ve learned to never underestimate old people

As a german guy I gotta say: this man knows how to impersonate an old german climber man... if the instructor was german, he probably would have noticed pretty quickly that Magnus is not actually german, but the body language and the general dialogue... fair play to Magnus man!

The coach is amazing, even as someone who doesn't climb, I can tell he's amazing and his positivity would be really helpful for someone to learn/improve.
