Thank you SO Much for Having me VidIQ!! You all are great!!

I went all in on YT after losing my job due to a mental breakdown. Decided to try it as a hobby and a way of distracting me from the bad thoughts. 9 months later, 30K subs with less than 40 videos! I’m blown away by the growth! Just wish I’d started long before!

I started to treat my channel like a business before I even launched the channel. I found a niche with high demand and low proposition. I counted that I needed at least 15 videos per month It was 150 hours of work. Then I created my first 50 videos and got about 3-4k $.
  • I recently decided to get deadly serious about You-Tube I decided when I say I want to make YouTube my job that means the amount of time I spend on it should be the same as on a normal job as I had the switch in mindset my channel started exploding (by my standards anyway) +98 subscribers in the last 28 days and counting and that was treating it like a part time job (22hours per week) now I’m about to go full time 40 hours per week spent working on YouTube and I expect even better growth
  • I take this story to heart because I was laid off a week after having my son 7 months ago. I decided to go all in on YouTube because I didn't want to rely on working for anyone else and get laid off again. I've been using all this time at home taking care of my newborn and studying editing, thumbnail creation, pacing, niching, listening to advice from successful creators and channels like vidIQ. I'm putting more effort into my channel and learning than I did at my full time job that I lost. It's just frustrating when say for my last video, I put 10+ hours of work into the video, but it only gets 10 views and I lose a subscriber. I'm not gonna quit or anything. It's just frustrating...
  • I’m on the cusp of doing something similar. Channel is gaining momentum, I’ve gained a 200k following on Facebook, and I’m really thinking maybe it’s time to go all in.

Thank you for a very interesting video. As a small channel with zero income ( thanks to COVID) its encouraging to know the potential is there. Being in the hot seat day in day out is wearing and not without a little stress ( stressed who me ...) IMO the biggest thing I'm learning is to stick to a theme and make small changes. Test a lot of things then look at the stats. That will give you a clue about where you're going. More importantly you should be able to see where you came from and where to go next. Look for patterns of failure (where you were) and success (where your going next). Flops are inevitable. So learn and make small changes again. Just avoid huge swings in the hope of hitting a viral. There's no data in that and almost zero chances of repeating it. Work with your means and learn as much as you can. Then do the work to implement it in your own videos. Best of luck - Paul - p.s. the harder I work at getting better the luckier I get 🤗🤗

Love this video, super inspiring. I've been putting into practice all the knowledge vidIQ drops and in 2 weeks I've gone from 150->300 subs and hoping to hit that 1k in the next month or so! Keep grinding everyone, if we apply our learnings and improve with each video we can make it!
  • @homegamerdad
These stories are real inspirations towards success! Keep up the great work everyone! Pace yourselves and never loose your passion. 😊 I’m okay with not going full-time, mostly looking to do what I love while also helping out with the monthly bills. Being SO CLOSE to that monetization goal is a great feeling, knowing that a big jump is coming soon!
  • If you’re reading this, your YouTube channel will grow, keep grinding and stay focused!

Listening to this story is like watching a movie, waiting to see when and how the hero will succeed. Nice. Not all can taste success like this...but we need to take the key lesson. Never give up and hardwork always pays. I have posted more than 3200 videos and continuing with this YouTube Creator journey with the hope that I'll taste success one fine day. Good luck and best wishes to all fellow creators who share good things.

I handed my notice in this friday just gone at my full time job because youtube earns me more than that now, so excited for my life to begin!
  • @-NH-_-
Your sound is impeccable....no white noise...very high and clear
  • Canadian Guy Eh's story really spoke to me as I've been unemployed for some time now, the difference being that I left an unhealthy job on my own terms. The other difference is I don't have many obligations which has led to a lot of procrastination on my part. What this video has taught me is that I need to focus on promoting myself in order to have a chance at building a community here on YouTube. It was also cool of Canadian Guy to mention Reddit as I've been unsure of where to promote my content & didn't want to resort to using Facebook etc. I'm gonna take some time to find places where my future audience congregate & we'll see how I get on.
  • @CoolKidCroc
I’m from Canada and attempting to do something similar with a game called Kenshi, I’m at 7000 subs right now. This was inspiring, I hope to have the same drive this fellow Canuck has
