What if people build buoyant houses that were anchored down? So when it flooded they just rose to the height of the water.

And it wasn't even record rain! The Sarasota area doubled in population in the last 20 years. New construction sites everywhere! Thousands of new homes and condos and businesses. Blame our Leaders, blame our Politicians! Changing farmland into residential! For the first time every, Bradenton Raceway and Dragstrip was flooded! Why? Because of new construction sites all around and Land Clearing for future sites! Start the Lawsuits!

Some who died were on the road which is bad and one was in his house and the tree fell on it. So the main thing is do not drive into high waters. Cars hydroplane or you can't see where canals are and the car sinks. Its all a tragedy.

It hit an hour north of me Monday, sorry they got nailed. Hurricanes are a season here, every year you just hope it's not your house being smashed.

Everyone in Florida were extremely lucky that this was only a tropical storm and cat 1, A cat 3,4,or 5 would have been more devastating.
