Karate is the strongest martial art in the world. Karate originated in Okinawa, Japan. However, its origin is not clear. This program is a journey to explore the origin of Okinawa Karate. The history and culture of Okinawa had a great influence on karate. Writer C.W. Nicol, who received the MBE title from the British royal family, explores the secrets of Okinawa Karate.

この番組は、英国出身の作家のC.W.ニコルさんが空手のルーツを求めて旅をするものである。日英友好に貢献したとして英国王室から「メンバーMBE」の爵位を与えられたニコルさんが、沖縄空手の秘められた歴史を探る。

When I lived in Japan in the early 2000's , old Nic used to be in the media . Always enjoyed his offerings, I had no internet and it was nice to hear a genuine western perspective on Japan based on a respectful lived experience.

I enjoyed my time in Okinawa very much and I am very grateful for the Okinawa people who gave so much of their time teaching me and also molding me into a better person. God bless the people of Okinawa.

I'm a long time resident of Japan and martial artist and had NO idea he was a martial artist. Nor have I heard him speak English before. He was very famous on local Tokyo TV and NHK shows as an expert in Japan's natural environment, plant life snd conservation. Learning about his background was such a pleasant surprise. May he rest well and train forever in his Dojo now.

A good docu, but dont say that Karate ist the powerfulliestt Martial Art to a thaiboxer. I trained Karate, boxing kick and thaiboxing and try some else and all of this Styles have plus and minus. You maybe find your own Style and develop it after years of training . Greetings fromm germany❤
