  • Meat was good. Meat is bad. Eggs were good. Eggs are bad. Fasting good. Fasting bad. I've been doing all three since I saw a video you did on fasting years ago. I'm the healthiest I've ever been. Went from 230 to 200. Remember, there's no money for big pharma when people are healthy.
  • Everyone stay calm and just wait six months everything will change again and you won’t have to change anything
  • @smarro71
Thats like: coffee is good for you, coffee is bad for you... I just continue doing my 18/6 intermittent fasting because I lost 30 lbs and I feel great.
  • The reason fasting is dangerous is the food companies aren't making any money when you are fasting.
  • @dilwich
    Whilst you're fasting someone is losing money . . . . .

It is worthy. I am 73 years old and living proof of it. I have been fasting for the past 20 years without any negative side effects. I fast 16 hours on and 8 hours off. On Saturday and Sunday up to 20 hours. I do not take any medications of any kind, not even Tylenol. The last time I had a cold was in 2002. I exercise daily from 0500 to 0600 hrs, do not feel fatigue, tired; rather, full of energy ready to tackle the day by standing up to 8 hours dispensing medications to people my age and much younger. I practice good eating habits and take my supplements. There you have it. Not bad for an old fart

Started skipping breakfast go to gym on empty stomach best decision I ever made

Well, I am living proof that my weight was 290 lbs. Now I am down to 237. Fasting ,exercise, and eating smarter have changed my life.
  • I changed my mind listening and watching these "experts". I watch and listen to myself.
  • None of these experts referred to any medical studies for their recommendations. I’m accustomed to Dr Ken Berry’s and Dr Jason Fung’s always referring to studies to support ideas. I’m still wrestling with residual insulin resistance from decades of carb addiction. I’ll keep intermittent fasting.

For over 50 years the best single thing I can do for my health is a 3 day fast. Period end of story. Thanks
  • @petebowen9031
There should be a delineation between fasting for someone in already perfect health with lots of muscle (like these “experts”) and fasting for someone that’s overweight with insulin resistance. Nothing lowers blood insulin levels like fasting.
  • The one permanent feature of science is that it will inevitably change , do what works for you!
  • These people did not get ill and then experience healing themselves through fasting. I did. And it appears there are volumes more studies supporting fasting than the recent one or two no peer reviewed studies that suddenly don't support it.

Currently on a carnivore journey and I am definitely getting enough protein. Feel better than ever, I usually fast 16-20hrs a day and have 2 meals a day.

Fasting was the most mind-blowing "discovery" I made for myself (I put that in quotes because obviously I followed others like Dr. Fung talking about it). It was like discovering how I had lived in my own "Matrix", got to see it from the outside for the first time, and now I live outside of some unknown prison I had lived in for 40 years (the belief that I HAD to eat). Fasting changed my life utterly, both as intermittent and as the prolonged version. It's one of the most powerful tools available to us, along with what we chose to eat, how much of it, the exercise we chose, and the mental stress we place upon ourselves. Play with all the variables, discover what works for you (and it's fluid - what works today may not work in 10 years as you age and can't do some exercises, for example).
  • I'm 60 years old, and people say that I look 47, I have been doing 16 hours fasting for 30 years, I eat chicken with lots of vegetables and some fruits and nuts and i cook with extra virgin olive oil, I feel great, never had any health problems and I will never stop fasting.

All of these people are fairly lean to begin with and they train hard compared to most. I think you should talk with Jason Fung. His clinic uses fasting for insulin resistant metabolically challenged overweight people. Fasting works best for them to improve their quality of life in every way.
