Studying for one class is busy enough, but most of us have to juggle between studying for multiple classes, often covering different topics. How do you know how much time to spend on a topic before going to the next? How do you know which topics to switch between so that you do well in all your courses?

Interleaving is one of the most underrated ways to learn. Strategies like active recall (quizzing) and spaced repetition usually take the spotlight as the best evidence based learning strategies. But according to cognitive and neuroscience, interleaving is one of the best ways to help you understand the connections between similar and even different topics. The hardest part about using interleaving is that there is no good way to apply it to your study sessions. In this video, we will give you two detailed and practical ways that you can use to incorporate interleaving into your studies today!

All these techniques should be taught in school in the beginning of every year, a lot of students hate school because they don't understand their lessons because they don't know how to study so they give up unfortunately :/

Thanks for the video! It’s very helpful! It’s been helping me with my 4 science classes. I wanted to know what are some ways to stay stay alert or motivated to study? Or during studying? There would be times where I’m not motivated enough to study even if it’s for a few mins. Thanks!

I will try to implement this this upcoming semester. I have 4 classes, all on the same days, so trying to figure out how to balance it all out. Example: Java, C#, Stat and Writing all on Tuesday and Thursdays. 2 x 4 Hour Lecture for both days. If I understand this correctly, I just go to the Class 1, review it, then go to Class 2, Review it so fourth on. (Tuesday). Then do homework 1-2 on day on Wednesday. Do Hw 3-4 on Friday? (Most things due Monday).
