Strange Netflix Instant Test Video

A Netflix employee took this video apparently to test the Netflix Instant watching( or so I understand). This video is on Netflix Instant under many titles and many different lengths, the longer ones just being loops of the same video. Most of them are called something like "Example 30 min 24 frames per second" or something like that. You can watch them if you have Netflix. Anyway, the video is somewhat strange and very interesting and I felt I should upload it for those of us who don't have Netflix. I would love to know the story behind this in more detail as well. I found out about this on reddit, by the way.

I feel like this video isn't on Netflix anymore... good thing I shittily screencapped it 8 years ago?

After I watched this, a little girl called me and whispered, "seven days."

Brian and Jason need to track the dude down and interview him/have him recreate the scene again.

I would bet money that this is a video specifically designed to test video and audio codecs. It has hard to encode things like water and strong colors and popping noises. And then it even has test tones and color bars.

I first watched this stoned and it freaked me out! Glad I’m not the only one to remember it 🤣

This is actually a pretty nice test set, lots of motion to see how framerate affects clarity
