Lorgar wrote his fanfic with so much passion and now he's fighting against the cringe he made

Isyander: "sisters of battle can parry a greater demon through nothing but belief." Me nodding: "Ah yes, the Ork approach."

"Life is fantastic. It's a weird and fun ride, stay on it for as long as it'll let you," is honestly such a beautiful line. I went back to listen to it like 20 times.

After the issue with Vandire, the Sisters became the punks of 40k. They answer to literally no one except the emperor. Even the ecclesiarch, they don't answer too, at all. They go to the inquisition before going to the ecclesiarch. Morvven Val is a great example of this. She was offered to be a High Lord of Terra in an attempt to control the sister hood. She said she'd think about it. After two days of meditation and fasting, she agreed. The High Lords have absolutely no control over her. She only does what she truly believes what the Emperor wants.

A few of my favorite quotes from some of the novels about the sisters: "We carry His blade, His bolter, and His name. The forces of darkness cannot withstand us" "'They are heretics. I shall not suffer their lives' Behind her, five bolters cocked ready with a noise that rang from the rock. The people of the town died." "You young women, never think to duck. What do they teach you in the schola? The Emperor is all-seeing, Sister Abril, but even He won't stop an autocannon if it hits you square in the chest" And ofcourse, the Living Saint herself: "I am Saint Celestine of Terra, you sack of rancid filth, and until my last breath I will defy you and the vermin-gods you serve!"

    1) Church landing ships are probably a reference to a bit of early 80's D&D folklore (the Gygax/Froideval era) wherein a DM dealing with a particularly obnoxious group of player solved the issue by dropping a cathedral on top of them as they had attracted the ire of some divinity. 2) Yes, Henry VIII was the monarch establishing the Church of England. 3) The Sisters being at some point "Brides of the Emperor" are a reference to most Catholic nun orders referring to themselves as Brides of Christ.

If I remember correctly, only two Sisters have ever WILLINGLY turned to Chaos. One to Khorne, one to Slanessh. Can't remember their names, and it might have only been one sister. But other than that, sisters get driven insane and turn to Chaos a decent amount, like when Angron destroyed the Chorral Engine and Khorne's murder-curse started.
  • Emperor: "Gods are not real, I'm VERY MUCH not one, so stop." Also Empsy: surrounded by golden light , single most powerful "human" , literally immortal , has a literal halo

8:08 “When you’d cry, He’d wipe away all of your tears. When you’d scream, He’d fight away all your fears. He holds your hand through all of these years. You still have. All of him.” - Old sisters of battle hymn to the emperor.

Lorgar, learning that the work he made has been deeply internalized in that which he hates: Curses! The consequences of my own actions!
  • @MegaDoom101
G’day from Australia Izzy and Kodes, fun fact about my country. We had a prime minister named Bob hawk who one time got so drunk at a sporting event that he gave the entire natiion the following day off saying in a drunken slur “any boss who makes their workers come in tomorrow is a bum.” He will always be the perfect exemplar of what my people are all about.

I told my wife (who’s a Sisters fan)the story of the Sisters asking the recruit to sing and she mentioned that it shows on the “Mark of Faith” book she’s reading. They’re such a fantastic faction!

  • Guys I just have to say I love your Warhammer podcasts. No one can hold a candle to The way you hype up a faction that makes us so enjoyable.

Assasinorum absolutely. Hi from Australia and my fun fact is that there was a period of time where we had a bunch of exorcists running around. One lady had bad seizures so they did a ritual and ended up killing her but because she turned blue they thought the devil was being expelled. So they left the corpse for like 3 WEEKS.
