"We're slightly unwell...." immediate thumbs up LOL
  • Still Life by Sarah Winman is my absolute favorite book of all time. It's a lot more cheerful than Tin Man, but still has all the same feels.
  • @GlitterEnby
I love how kind you are to each other. Even while razzing each other, you listen actively, affirm each other, and disagree respectfully.
  • I’m old enough to be your grandmother and love your choices of books you read and review. I see you both beginning to settle in and I appreciate you listing the books discussed.as I often listen while walking. Keep up the good work! ♥️☮️
  • I read The Vegetarian a long time ago, and it still lingers in my thoughts. If you're interested in reading more by Han Kang, I highly recommend Human Acts. It's a very different book from The Vegetarian, but it's equally powerful. I just finished reading East of Eden in January, and I have a strong feeling it will be one of my top 5 reads of 2024. It was an easy five-star read for me. Also, I love love your videos :)

Thanks for the shout out guys 😘 I'm so glad you're loving In Memoriam Sierra. I cannot wait to try Alone With You In The Ether. I read Wuthering Heights when I was about 12, and I had no idea what was going on, so I very much want to re-read it. Pride and prejudice - I feel like I should've loved this more than I did, but I had just had a baby when I read it 😂 so I think my mind wasn't as focused as usual! I have to say I really didn't like East Of Eden when I read it 10 years ago, but I have my granddad's Steinbeck anthology (💔) so I am definitely going to read more of his work, as my grandad obviously liked him. Long comment!!

'But other girls are cool' 👏🏼👏🏼 Austen is so funny, I think that reading up on Austen really helps. I read many of her books years ago and I saw the literary value and humour but that's where it ended. But the more I understand of the themes and culture really made her a favourite author. Katie from Books and Things has a lot of Austen videos and hosts a readathon of her work every July, so if you are interested in giving her Emma or one of her other books a chance , I'd really reccomend.
  • I honestly look forward to your video each week!! They’re SO fun and filled with great info. 💛 Sula & East of Eden are two of my absolute favorites! Glad that ya’ll enjoyed them too. :) I added Tin Man to my tbr list & also interested to see how I feel about Hell Bent. I enjoyed Ninth House but very intrigued to see where I fall with Hell Bent since I’ve heard varying opinions.

I loved Tin Man. It was one of my favourite reads last year. I recently finished When God Was A Rabbit and it was also excellent. I find Winman's writing very moving. Thanks for the video! 😊

If you guys want to try out more fantasy, I think you would enjoy Susanna Clarke's work a lot. I especially think Jon would really like Piranesi. Your description of Pride & Prejudice really cracked me up! Katie from Books and Things has lots of excellent videos if you want a bit more historical context before diving into Emma.
  • @giftofthegabby
I have just finished Panenka by Ronan Hession from your previous video, and absolutely loved it! Your content is so good and I live for your recommendations... thank you both!
  • @DogEaredMusings
I’ve been meaning to get to Minor Detail-loved your review
  • @josmith5992
Ok, we can still be friends 😉, I loved Minor Detail, East of Eden and The Vegetarian- I like an unhinged book 😉, really like Sula too and think I might love it on a reread. Adore Pride and Prejudice but my mum gave it to me at 12 so I was kind of indoctrinated and read Wuthering Heights decades ago and enjoyed it but need a reread to see what I think as a more ‘mature’ person. Can’t wait to see this video involving liquids and punishment! 🤔
  • I really appreciate your review of Poverty, By America. This has been on my TBR but maybe I will look for a different one on the topic. I also read Wuthering Heights in high school and didn't really love it. I've been thinking about re-reading it though!
