Finally, Roku listened 🎶 USB-C & Backlit buttons gets 2 thumbs 👍 👍 from me

The no headphone jack is a deal killer.
-
It's funny to me that the new remote has HBOMax which hasn't existed under that name in months

I saw this updated remote being advertised yesterday and went ahead and ordered one. Will see how it functions. I might use it to replace my remote used on my Roku Ultra. I have multiple Streaming Stick Pluses(the 4k models) and the remotes these ship with EAT batteries. I've had the remotes warranty replaced by Roku but still eats batteries.

Pass. 1) No headphone jack 2) One-touch buttons removed. We are fans of being able to turn on the TV and having our Roku Ultra go straight to YouTube TV with a single selection of a programmable button. Looks like that feature is gone. Programing one buttons for two actions is nice, but looks to add another step when starting the TV from the button.

I already have three of the original Roku Pro Rechargeable remotes. I only have to charge the remotes every couple of months. I believe this Roku Pro Remote 2 will probably be included with the Roku Ultra in the future. Currently I will stay with the Original Roku Pro Remote for now.

nice breakdown. just orderd me one. yep.
-
Are you able to plug usb-c wired earphones into the usb-c in replacement for the missing headphone jack? My wife refuses to use wireless earbuds. Thanks.
-
thinking since we don't have the roku os 13 on are roku tvs or sticks yet, we wont see the opptions of assigning 2 aps to the 1 roket shortcut button. or won't see the option of choosing bluetooth. still enjoy the remote though.
-
received the o.s 13 on my tcl roku 43 and 50 inch 4 series this morning. now I'm able to launch 2 aps that I can choose from, from the rocket shortcut button on the roku pro2 remote. the only feature that isn't there is the bluetooth settings. guess that may be only for the roku plus, pro, and select series of tv's.

Yeah the new Roku remote is ok but what really got me mad was with the "old" remote you could program any sound bar into it & everything was great, all in one remote. When I called Roku asking if someone could help me get the volume hooked to the remote they said they changed the new remotes programming to only work with the Roku products. So they want me to get rid of my sound bar, they said sorry, the volume for using this remote will only work with Roku speakers & sound bar .
-
look like the latest roku os 13 update is going to add the features of being able to assign 2 aps to the 1 rocket shortcut button, as well as the setting to connect to bluetooth. yep.
-
recieved my remote couple of days ago. unless I'm doing something wrong, can't seem to assign 2 aps for me to choose with the rocket short cut button. even though roku says we can. plus I'm not seeing the menu to ch choose the bluetooth setting from the remote. Is this happening for anyone else?
-
Wonder if it would control my amazon soundbar ?
-
How do you program the quick launch button to open two different apps? Thanks for the review.
-
Can I use this as a second remote on the same Roku? Like one in the kitchen and one in the TV room?
-
Can I pair it with a Roku streamer or only to a Roku TV?
-
I actually called Roku to see if I could get any of the older remote with the headphone jack. In my opinion, the built in battery, no headphone jack, just those two things makes this inferior and probably will need replacing more often due to the lithium ion battery that has about a two year lifespan. I've use the same 4 eneloop rechargable AA's for four years and just rotate them out in pairs when the remote, which uses a ton of battery power, runs out of power. Bluetooth is not nearly as reliable and using your phone for me is a backup solution not as easy as plugging in a set of buds. I'm with Spectrum and a Xumo streaming device doesn't hold a candle to the Roku Ultra 4K. Not to mention paying monthly? Please! Roku is going the wrong direction....

They need bluetooth like chromcast 4k even the walmart ONN 4K you can listen to tv through headphones ear buds etc Roku is behind is streaming
