  • Visually Dead Space has the advantage of a striking design, one of the reasons why the original holds up today after all these years.

i want calisto protocol's facial animations in every game

Callisto protocol might not have been the most fun or scary, but it was one of the first games where I truly felt the visuals were next gen.

its weird how such a big company like EA can be so short-sighted they axed Visceral because it didn't sell a huge amount, but Dead Space sold pretty well for a Horror game but the greedy executives don't understand or care, now after all these years they realized the potential Dead Space has, all these years they could have kept the original Studio and kept building the title and it would have been a mainstream title by now and they'd make a lot of money.

The lighting (software based real time GI) and dynamic fog looks amazing in dead space remake. The Callisto Protocol has higher quality assets (character models, textures), and reflections. Both games looks amazing.

Callisto fell to what I call "The XIII Paradox." Specifically, Callisto has some of the most stunning graphics and an arguably great OST, but falls short on literally everything else.
  • I think Callisto suffered from not only the launch bugs but even patched, I feel like it suffered from being a bit too cinematic, it’s in every aspect of gameplay
  • I don’t know how to explain this. It’s like Callisto is graphically impressive in realism while the DSR is graphically impressive in art style

I love both games for different reasons. I enjoyed Callisto Protocol for the chunky visceral combat that feels satisfying for the most part, graphics are drop dead gorgeous & it was just an solid fun ride through space prison. Dead Space Remake is absolutely phenomenal and I appreciated the changes for the better. I'll be replaying both games throughout the year.. currently on a impossible plasma cutter only run 🔥

Calisto protocol looks good but overall dead space is a better game. Good video anyway 👍👍

I were sitting with the thought. "Wouldn't it be nice if someone would compare Dead Space remake and Callisto Protocol? Nah, no one will do that" - but here we are. Nick delivering like always. Thank you!
  • Even after playing the remake I still had a lot of fun with Callisto Protocol and hope both IP’s keep going.
  • Dead space all the way. Was my favorite back in 2008, it’s even better now. Hands down an amazing game.
  • Would be cool if they could tie the two universes together and make a game that combines elements of both. A man can dream.
  • The thing is...the original idea for dead space was "a prison game set in space", which eventually became Callisto protocol. Problem is glen Schofield used all his best ideas on dead space and kind of dropped the ball with Callisto. And just to add salt to the wound...EA decides to ride off his back and reputation, remake dead space and rub that in his face.

Fun Fact Issac's Remake face is actually designed after his VA as a "Welcome home Issac" Joke.

Dead space is the best, no argument. I was too hard on Callisto at launch though. So much so I returned it on steam. Now that game runs smooth, it’s like it’s a completely different game. I’m definitely enjoying it and it’s gorgeous. Really happy that AMD gave me a free copy after upgrading my gpu, giving the game a second chance was worth it.
  • I'm a scaredy-cat for the most part... With Dead Space Remake (DS) I can only play for like an hour in the later levels, while with Callisto Protocol (CP), I could pretty much play endlessly. I understand people's disappointment with CP and it not really being the spiritual successor to DS that everybody wanted, but given that I played CP first; I thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually liked the combat, feeling like I wasn't trapped in the prison with horrific zombie aliens, rather, they were trapped in there with me. Like as if the biophages were playing the survival horror all along.

Jacob's face has more polygons than the entire Isaac model in the Dead Space remake🤣

I liked both games. I was really shocked though at how nearly identical Callisto was to DS. As somebody who never played the original back in the day I ended up playing CP first and now I’m playing DS and it’s clear that CP is essentially a clone. Either way, I really enjoy both games although in CP I could have done with less combat as it was just too repetitive. Those graphics were phenomenal though and the haptics on PS5 were really immersive.
