Quick Correction: -While the pulse rifle is automatically available in the store in the original game, you do have to find "schematics" hidden in the old levels to unlock more weapons like the flamethrower. Still - the remake has you find the actual weapons themselves, which I think is a much better way to introduce these weapons to players.
  • I liked that you can clearly hear Isaac heavy breathing in the original game. It's immersive, makes you feel lonely in those corridors.

Its crazy how good the original holds up in 4k
  • I absolutely love the added heartbeat to the remake. Having breathing and his heartbeat audible is just brilliant. Makes it so intense, especially with headphones.

Only thing I wish they'd retain from the original is how Isaac walked. In the original Isaac is terrified, so he's walking around always paranoid, hunched over a little bit like he just wants to cower in a corner, but upright enough like he has to keep remindjng himself to be brave to find his beloved. In the remake he's walking pretty normal.
  • The fact that the enemies can be fully covered in darkness is just amazing can’t wait to play it

Remake looks great no doubt. But the most shocking thing is how good the original looks still.

What I really like which another YouTuber pointed out is that, while Isaac finally speaks and has his own dialogue in the game, he only actually speaks when around other people. So unlike most games, let’s say for example, Nathan Drake in Uncharted, he isn’t constantly spouting random dialogue to help the player at key moments. They don’t do that here and I think it was a great choice. I don’t want the character to randomly say something that will conveniently help me figure out the puzzle. The most you will hear from Isaac are his grunts and heavy breathing which is super refreshing and only immerses you more as a player.
  • The remake is amazing but I love the audio from the original, it’s timeless

absolutely wild how well the original holds up

I'm just hoping Isaac's hallucinations and whispers he hears are still there. It added so much to the atmosphere.

I loved that the uniforms were included on the new necromorphs and the uniforms fit the area they're in.

The original Dead Space still looks beautiful.

The remake is how I remember it looking like back in 2008. Cant believe how far we've come in 14-15 years.

I love how true to the OG this is. It feels like it was made with so much love and attention to detail. As someone who loved these games, playing this remake felt so familiar yet so new and it is just very well done.
  • If you REALLY wanna see the power of the peeling system, try using the force gun on the necromorphs. It’s pretty dope how you can see their bones and stuff
  • Imo the sound for old version is better , his breath and footsteps making us really feel the terror of being alone in the environment , waiting for enemies. But the lighting work on the new remake makes the corridors as creepy as it always has

I still cant believe my favourite series is back, after a decade. The remake is soooo good. Strongly recommend
  • That necromorph forcing its way through the door is so much more intimidating in the first game. The blood and bile pouring out of its mouth, the messy strands of hair, and the inhuman way it forces its way through the door are just beautiful.

I’m currently on chapter 5 of the remake. Absolutely loving it so far, but my favorite thing about it is probably the fact that they actually got Gunner Wright back to play Isaac. I freaked out when I heard his voice in a trailer, just so cool. It still blows my mind we have new lines for Isaac from Gunner Wright after so many years.
