Semi-auto shotguns are probably my favorite category of gun. No other civilian weapon delivers so much kinetic energy so quickly.

Love 5 guns. 6 years ago I was a 20 year old guy looking to buy my first gun with no idea what to look for, coming from a non-gun owning family. I came across a video called (as I remember)"5 guns for your college student" and never turned back. In that one year I bought a glock 19, a 91/30, a Maverick 88, and my first AR. And I've been on the journey ever since. You guys helped fill the gaps of knowledge that I couldn't get from my own family and ill always be thankful for that. Thank you guys for putting in the work, and keep it up!
  • Really surprised that the Beretta 1301 isn't on this list. Seems like a pretty significant oversight, it's nearly universally well liked and has been put through it's paces by a lot of highly regarded reviewers and passed with flying colors.

Speaking of the Marines using old equipment, on my last 31st MEU float in "06 we had an M2 .50 cal that was a WW2 production AC Spark Plug Div. General Motors gun. It was the only one that had wood on the spade grips and charging handle. The armorer told me it was the best running gun in the inventory.

Eric's face when he turns around after emptying a full mag of 12ga from the Vepr is priceless.
  • @sixtofive
It's interesting to see how quickly the Beretta 1301 has taken over the demand in the market over the past year.
  • @michaelegert1284
That smile after mag dump the 30 rnd drum mag is priceless😂👍

I’ve had the same Remington 1100, 12 gauge. It’s fitted with a “Cutts Compensator, for 40 years now. It has never failed me, and I can’t tell you how many times it fed me. Great video guys, thanks.

My 930spx has proven a very reliable and smooth shooting 12 gauge. Glad to see it on the list!
  • @bjblitz5448
The joy while shooting the VEPR 12 is so contagious
  • @DJTourniquet
That is indeed the M1014. Not a marine, but the 1014 happens to be my favorite

Had a huge guffaw when Eric mentioned a long barrelled 24" or 26" shotgun! We had a member turn up to a driven fox shoot with a 42" marlin bolt-action 3&1/2" chamber. The chap had to use a stand to support his shotgun. I am commenting from the Republic of Ireland.
  • @ChiefDunham
One issue exists with the 930 that has been fixed with the 940. If shooting a lot (200+ rounds) of slugs, lead will be deposited on the magazine tube resulting in a stoppage that is VERY difficult to remove.

While I understand the Benelli Marine is associated with the USMC, the broader definition of a marine shotgun means that it is either stainless or coated with something that is rust resistant. Mossberg had the Mariner and other companies used the term marine grade, something that could be kept on your boat.
  • @kevinbreese5739
Good list but Beretta 1301 should definitely be on the list. Fair price, great quality, super reliable and the fastest of the bunch. Love my 1301 tactical.
  • @r2tech74
Bought the Mossberg 930 SPX and loving it! Solid, Reliable, Proven, and priced right.
  • @mhansen111
Jerry's shotgun had barely a cm of vertical movement when he fired it. That is one sweet compensator on his Moss 930

I was a marine in an infantry unit (0351) who's specialty was urban mobility breaching...aka blowing up doors/walls, and I can say from experience that the corps was/is way too broke to afford 1014's. (Some recon units might have a few) But my unit got a pair of remington 870's from a unit coming back from deployment and those suckers were so old and worn out that our CO told us not to use them.
