With 28 years of inflated movie prices I should hope so.

$41M in 1996 is $82M now. People need to stop trying to compare 2024 opening weekends to films that opened 20, 30 years ago. Hell, with the rate of inflation, even 15 years ago. The amount of people that saw TWISTER opening weekend in 1996 and the amount of people that'll see TWISTERS aren't even in the same ballpark. They're not even playing the same sport.

My mom and I go see a movie in theaters together maybe once a year, and we're seeing this opening weekend. It just feels like a throwback to a kind of movie that rarely gets made anymore. Like Ray said there aren't many natural disaster movies anymore, and this one's a sequel to a classic of the genre. It's my #2 most anticipated movie of this summer behind Deadpool and Wolverine

I watched twister last night on max and it still is a good fun entertaining movie,i will watch this one but my hopes are not very high at all hopefully it surprises all of us

I live in Indonesia. According to Warner Bros Indonesia, Twisters will be release on July 10th, which is 9 days earlier than U.S. Market. It seems Warner Bros. is so enthusiastic to release this movie earlier in Asia market. I will watch this with my folks since they did watch the original one back in '96.

Twisters is my 4th most anticipated movie coming out. So I hope it's great 👍. The trailer looks promising.

Ray I got my ticket for Twisters 4DX 💖 I'm highly excited for Twisters. They filmed it during the Tornado season last year here in Oklahoma before the Actor strike. I'm seeing this and Deadpool & Wolverine 2 times, both normal & 4DX. My birthday month has 2 movies I'm seeing 2 times finally 🤣

That original Twister box office was based on a TON of repeat viewings in the "having to wait for it to come out on VHS" Era. And I worry that even if it's good (which I hope it is!) It's going to be completely forgotten the next week when Deadpool & Wolverine show up.
