Is Minecraft 1.21 going to be good, or no?

While we still have criticisms for how slowly Minecraft has been updating, in this video, for the sake of discussion, we're giving Mojang a clean slate. With the introduction of the Crafter, Copper Bulb, Wolf Armor, Armadillo, and more, is Minecraft 1.21 shaping up to be good, or no?

The copper bulb nerf is still. so stupid. Hope that it gets reverted but give the whole parity issue (which is dumb?? Java and bedrock redstone are hardly alike to begin with) i doubt it

Heyo! Aside from the ending bit about Wolf Armor & Armadillo's being added recently, this video was scripted around a month ago. My bad for taking so long to get it edited! I hope you enjoy, and I hope 1.21 turns out to be good!

It would be really be nice to see Mojang routinely updating slightly new structures. Not necessarily big overhauls or update-themed rooms but just, for example, adding a new room to strongholds and/or mineshafts every other update

The copper bulb change is so short sighted and ridiculous from Mojang. When people asked for Slime Blocks and Honey Blocks to not stick together, Mojang listened and now so much more is possible as a result! Mojang removing an interesting feature of the copper bulb in the name of "parity" is so so dumb, it will hurt players' perception of this update as being very disappointing.

I don't care what they did with the auto-crafter and it was a reasonable change lets be honest, But the copper bulb changing it's tick delay was a weird decision it doesn't make sense it was like unique in it's functioning and allowed so much to happen with less block space.

I am excited for this update but I am still super concerned with the development process. They have shown time and time again that they want to make the game more tedious rather than harder to make people play longer. Whether or not you enjoy that grind or not is up for debate but I think we can all agree that it just seems they have their priorities mixed up and it’s so sad to see. I think the disappointment that the developers aren’t listening to the community on parity changes and making the update impactful with changes to older features might overcome the excitement. Aside from the opinionated stuff like showing too much or not allowing for actual change with certain preconceptions (like the Enderdragon being the end game and so on.) it’s hard to root for them when they are so aggressively pushing changes that negatively impact the community. They’ve caused a lot of trouble with debates rising and division in the community cough cough mob votes cough cough while not addressing or being transparent with the process. This has gotten me bummed, I’m excited for it and want it to succeed but I know there are other things that need work and they need it more than new features. But that’s just my take. Thanks for listening.

They should add a "no-infighting" tag for mobs. That would partially solve the skeleton problem and I imagine would be useful for map makers.

I like that the auto crafter is a bit more difficult than just setting a blueprint and having it do it's thing. Figuring out the redstone is half the fun.

I think if Mojang is wise rn, they'll be laying breadcrumbs with no answers, like the Ancient City Portals and Trial Keys, and then tie them all together in a big update later on. It would be the smart way to go.

I think this update will either turn out excellent or only moderate, depending on what they have planned for unannounced features. In my opinion, it really hinges on whether Mojang puts focus on old, outdated systems like combat, enchanting, or potions (just to lay out a few overhauls that would merge perfectly with this update). We'll just have to wait and see.

Things mentioned in this video that aren’t a part of 1.21: Being able to strip oxidation off of copper blocks Decorated pots storing items The tick command All three of these features have already released
  • 6:00 instead of placeholders, it could send signal strength 10 when there are 2 of a recipie put into it, 11 for 3, 12 for 4, and so on.
  • @bennyl9228
The Crafter sits in a unique position between various modded versions. The Create version is similar but slower and requiring rotation power; however, the RFTools Crafter can store lots of recipes, has an internal buffer for storing items with an internal filter, and can craft way faster.
  • @Golem2OO8
Also, for the trial chambers, I hope Mojang will make a new armor trim for the structure
  • @Notllamalord
they should have just allowed you to place ghost items in the crafter, it's much more intuitive and gives it an practical use. Right now you need a rediculous amount for redstone for more complex recipies
  • @iLOLZU42
I think the new update could be called the Escalation Update. Autocrafters and Copper Bulbs revolutionize redstone. Trial Chambers can offer players a dynamically changing and potentially ever increasing challenge if they are expanded upon. /tick is quite interesting... command block creations and custom maps could really benefit.

Copper bulbs is the best feature so far. Original design, different uses (light and redstone) and VERY easy to use because it's a full block Crafter is great too: original design, and, while it have one use - it can also act like dispenser. Hard to use though I hate bricks or pots flooding my inventory. I would love to be able to crack pots or something so they don't drop bricks on breaking Also it's sad that I can't hold pot with items in my inventory, why? Would be cool to dye pots and stack different items, because one type stack is USELESS. Even in redstone.

I haven't followed the latest news around the game lag. But last time I checked, one Pot was creating as much lag as 40 single chests or something. I have no clue if they fixed this or not. Also no clue how much lag one Auto-Crafter can cause. That's what I am the most worried about, here.
