What a joy seeing two people who get visibly uncomfortable at the idea that someone genuinely likes them.

Man this conversation about him and his baby playing baseball at 5 in the morning just made me smile from ear to ear the whole time. You can hear it in his voice how much he's enjoying it. ❤

"You are my absolute hero" You just know it feels so so so good to grow up looking up to Conan and then working with him and being his friend

The chemical composition of Conan and Mulaney is comedy gold.

i love how sincerity is like pulling teeth for comedians. it physically hurts them to sit with a genuine emotion and not do a bit to ease the tension.

My nephew used to stare out the window and wait for the garbage truck for hours. I hope garbage men know how admired they are by that demographic.

There is literally nothing as adorable and entertaining as John describing baseball at 5:10 AM with Malcom.
  • I love seeing John get as much joy out of being with his son as we’ve all gotten from his comedy over the years. It’s really cool to see and hear him be genuinely joyful knowing his struggles. Way to go John!
  • John has cemented his place as one of the absolute best CONAF guests. There are very few people who make Conan laugh harder. He's hilarious but he also wants to engage in deeper conversations, while still doing bits. Simply magnificent. No wonder he's been on three times now, such amazing chemistry.

"My parents poured all their anxieties into me in a good way" said no one in therapy sessions.

"someone having the wrong impression of me... that can be hurtful". Man, that hits. Generally in my behavior online, I can absolutely handle someone thinking I'm unfunny or I'm dumb (bc frankly most of the time, I am), I have a MUCH more difficult time handling someone thinking I'm a jerk.

John probably has such amazingly funny stories with him and his son. I could listen to him for hours just telling us about their adventures.

Even though he brings me enormous joy, I don't know John and this is very parasocial of me (a posture which I loathe) but it really makes me happy for him that seemingly, his son has truly changed his life and helped him get rid of his demons. When he announced his relationship with Olivia Munn and the imminent birth of his first child, many said the writing was on the wall and this was a textbook case of a guy that will relapse but this conversation truly gives me hope that he has turned the corner and those assumptions are just a bull load of cynicism. Here's to you, John! Not that you would care. 😂

Imagine the garbage workers that see this kid and his dad just follow them around every morning thinking they're being sneaky. That's gotta be entertaining

I loved this segment because Im pretty sure Conan is a father figure to Mulaney, and Conan asking Mulaney to be Real at the end is really a dad saying his kid that he doesn't have to act like a clown to be loved.
  • My wife and I can't have kids. Listening to these two and John's stories about his child encapsulates everything that I would have wanted in having a child. Also, having been a fan of his for so long and having had some of the same struggles, I cannot help but feel joy for him because how can you not??!!

John Mulaney is a gift to us all. I once ran into him and Neal Brennan on the street in Montreal — it made my night! I’m delighted that he is finding fatherhood so salutary.
  • @nish486
    Everyone seems nervous around Mulaney.
  • @Noreenlee1
Losing John to drugs would have been devastating. I'm thrilled he has found real happiness.
  • @yuehswind
Only a man could say having a child has simplified life.
