  • The thing is, you can “medicate” yourself with anything. Some people over eat, some people zone out with movies, video games, oversleep just to avoid the pain of life. Whatever you are struggling with whether it be an activity, drugs, or alcohol... just know, you can get through this!
  • Lyrics anyone? Wake up to a cloudy day Dark rolls in and it starts to rain Staring out to the cage-like walls Time goes by and the shadows crawl Crushin' candy crushin' pills Got no job, mom pays my bills Textin' ex's get my fill Sweatin' bullets, Netflix-chills World's out there singin' the blues Twenty more dead on the evening news Think to myself "really, what's the use?" I'm just like you, I was born to lose Why oh why can't you just fix me? When all I want's to feel numb But the medication's all done Why oh why does God hate me? When all I want's to get high And forget this so-called life I am so freakin' bored Nothin' to do today I guess I'll sit around and medicate (medicate) I am so freakin' bored Nothing to do today I guess I'll sit around and medicate (medicate) Can't wait to feel better than I ever will Attack that shit like a kid on Benadryl Chase it down with a hopeful smile Hate myself, if I can go for miles They say family's all you need Someone to trust can help you breathe Inhale that drug, but you start to choke You follow the outs of an inside joke Why oh why can't you just fix me? When all I want's to feel numb But the medication's all done Why oh why does God hate me? 'Cause I've seen enough of it, heard enough of it, felt enough of it Had enough of it! I am so freakin' bored Nothing to do today I guess I'll sit around and medicate (medicate) I am so freakin' bored Nothing to do today I guess I'll sit around and medicate Medicate Medicate Medicate Medicate Superman is a hero But only when his mind is clear though He needs that fix like the rest of us So he's got no fear when he saves that bus All the stars in the Hollywood Hills Snapchat live while they pop them pills All those flavors of the rainbow Too bad that shit don't work though Your friends are high right now Your parents are high right now That hot chick's high right now That cop is high right now The president's high right now Your priest is high right now Everyone's high as fuck right now And no one's ever coming down I am so freakin' bored Nothing to do today I guess I'll sit around and medicate (medicate) I am so freakin' bored Nothing to do today I guess I'll sit around and medicate Medicate Medicate Medicate Medicate I medicate Not even sure if I'm aloud to post the lyrics but here anyways ✌️😊 Like to keep at the top lol ✌️One love✌️

I'm 77 years old and I just heard this on the radio for the 1st time and Imma lovin' it. Better late than never. I may be an old goat but I love a lot of the music of today.
  • I've listened to this song hundreds of times on YouTube but never read any of the comments. Today I did. I had to stop everything I was doing...I'm sitting down right now with tears in my eyes because of how inspirational all of your comments are. On June 30th I'm coming up on one year clean from just about any and everything but mainly abandoning my children. I'm proud to say that I have all of them with me in our own home and I'm getting ready for work...well was before I read these beautiful comments. My sobriety and my family is my world and I'm so happy for all of you who have also found a way out.
  • To the slipping. To the one who feel alone. To the hurt. To the broken. To the forgotten. You're not alone!

This song will always be the epitome of an internal battle. As much as it brings me down it makes me feel better
  • This should win an award for the realest song ever made !!!hands down .I bet it touches more people’s lives then any other song

All of the comments about being clean make me want to cry. It refreshes my hope for my brother. I won't ever give up hope

Doesn't matter if you're 20 years sober or 1 day. Every step and will is the strongest thing in the world. Be proud. Even when you feel it's pointless

This song helped get out of a dark hole and had several thoughts of ending it but four years later I'm still here

For those of you who suffer from crippling addiction, I hope you overcome it. For those of you who are recovering and sober, I wish you all the best.
  • I had a $100 a day habit, woke up one day high of course and my 10 years old son asking me how come I always sleep sitting up drooling on myself, that moment changed my life, been sober since May of 2018, I listen to this song daily and play it on my guitar by ear and heart, you guys rock!!
  • I know this is about drugs but I've been in recovering from anorexia 10 years this month. I'm proud of myself. I just made it to 11 years as of August!!!! I'm still on track. 9/16/2020 Still on track 11/13/2020 despite having to cut out toxic people out of my life. I'm strong!
  • I somehow stumbled across this song for the first time today and it is so crazy how relatable it is… I am recovering from being a binge drinker (my parents and both sets of grandparents were Alcoholics) and it is a difficult path of breaking that cycle for my children. Now I am on anti depressants and smoke a lot of weed to try and survive my day…
  • There's something about the feeling you get when you're with your friends just ridin and chillin. Suddenly you and everything is ok even while life and the world is going to shit around you. The real ones around you make it alright and help bring you through. The band ridin in that old caddy is my favorite part of this whole video.

I've been sober off meth 3 years. I've won my Battle with drugs now I have to recover from the battle.
  • 41 days clean from heroin. Just got out of rehab. We did an exercise where we all had to write down a song that reminded us of our addictions and then we listened to them all and cried, it was awesome
  • This song hits home!!! Almost 5 years sober!!! The little girl covering her dad up reminds me of a mini me having to deal with addicts as parents
  • this is my Dads favorite song we have a complicated relationship but one thing we can bond on is music when i finally opened up to him about my addiction he showed me this song and helped me get clean , when ever i want to relapse i listen to this song , i have been clean for about 2 months now , this song and my dad saved my life
