People in 1924: we will have flying cars! People in 2024:
  • Me: "I play polybridge to solve creative puzzles" Reidcaptain: "I play poly bridge to make vehicles go mach 10"

fun facts about custom shapes: 1) The motor acceleration time is the number of seconds it will take for the motor to ramp up to top speed. that will get rid of any sudden jerkiness with CS motors. 2) if custom shapes are starting to phase though stuff, increase their mass. for whatever reason, heavier shapes have better collision properties.

I never really thought about it but the way most game engines can't handle speeds above a few thousand shows a lot of room for improvement in software techniques.

finally I'm watching a reid captain video that wasn't uploaded at least a month ago

Yo! Welcome back! I love the synthesizer thing, but if you don’t mind me asking, why did you decide to make it? I mean, it seems pretty far off from your usual content, and I never really related you with music. So how did you come up with this idea?
  • @RedRazorDuck
Why does he sound like he's confident and completely unsure of everything? 😭

So awesome you’re developing a synth! I would be happy to nab one of those upon release :) I can only imagine what got you into that. Music is beautiful and it’s all mathematics so this was probably a lot of fun for ya. If not a real challenge of blending hardware design intended to be comfortable and playable, with software that has run smooth and be intuitive.

Nice! I made a similar design when I was testing out ways to launch custom shapes. It consisted of 16 maxed spinning motors. Which launched an 80 pg custom shape around 1000 km/h (625 mp/h). Accord to a dev comment 1 pg is 4 kg (8.8 lbs) meaning the projectile had similar kinetic energy to modern tank rounds. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it work without unbreaking for cables so I couldn’t do much. I have a version with cars instead which i posted on pb 3 workshop.

So happy you posted again ! I loved seeing you build catapults in a bridge game xD

Once he started launching the car into space, it was hard to remember if I was watching Poly Bridge or KSP! Haha nice video!
