I always loved Tokka and Rhazor. I never looked at them as knockoffs of Beebop and Rocksteady. I would actually enjoy seeing all 4 together

They should have stuck with the dark tone from the first movie

So, Judith Hoag complained about the movie being too violent so they didn't ask her back. But then they didn't let the Turtles use their weapons because it was too violent?

I absolutely love TMNT 2, but I do wish I could see what the “darker-tone” version would be like. The jokes and wisecracks are surprisingly pretty funny and very well-written, but it definitely lost something by the turtles (besides Donnie) never actually using their weapons. Because of the more comedic and lighthearted tone, at times it also feels like this wasn’t a direct sequel because of how differently Raphael acted. Although, that change in tone fit perfectly with Mikey’s character, and he has the best jokes in the entire movie. “Yeah... a little TOO Raph...” gets me every time lol. Such a fantastic movie, and I think we ended-up getting the best movie possible. I hate that they made it more kid-friendly because of stupid parents complaining, but I doubt the movie would have been as good if they had kept the same dark tone of the original. It would have lost a lot of the great jokes (“COMBAT COLD-CUTS!!”), and probably Tokka and Rahzar. They’re definitely knock-offs of Beebop and Rocksteady, but I love them anyway. A darker tone could have worked, but it would have needed a really good story and strong writing to make it work. What they released with TMNT 3 makes me doubtful they would have gotten that strong story for TMNT 2, so I’m very happy with what we got, even if it does feel very different from the original.

Fun fact: Super Shredder was played by wrestler Kevin Nash

being replaced by a soap opera actress was like throwing salt in the wound!

Judith Hoag complained about the long shooting schedule. I think the ones who should complain were the actors in the turtle suits. Those turtle suits were extremely hot when worn. They would have puddles of sweat in their foot when they took them off.

Trust me when I say, no kids we're complaining about the dark tone of the original.

Super fun video, however, I hate to break it to you guys, but this video is incorrect, the turtles were not blind. They did not sew the eye holes shut in the masks, they just did a really good job of keeping them small. It was still extremely difficult to see, but it was possible.

The dancing scene is even more impressive now knowing that they couldn’t see! 👏
  • @jeffogrady2065
Nothing will ever beat the first movie. The story and costumes got sillier and sillier as every sequel came.
  • @makwilson2050
The suit performers weren’t the only ones who got cameos as two of the face puppeteers did too. In the newsroom scene with Mark and Michael is Rob Tygner, face puppeteer of Leonardo. I got a cameo (Mak Wilson - Michelangelo) as the Vanilla Ice promoter’s assistant. Fun times.

Another fun fact. Richard Divizio who was an actor in several of the Mortal Kombat video games also did some choreography for the movie and portrayed a foot soldier.

    Really great video. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  • @musicfreak1138
Sweet! Thank you for doing this one! Please do the third TMNT movie :)
  • @johnnyroche138
And this whole time I thought Leif Tilden in the Foot Soldier garb was a young Ryan Reynolds.
  • @ajstudios7504
Imagine being so bad and complaining a lot that they dont ask you to come back for the sequel
